I just had a haircut from Cynthia and while she was definitely a very nice person, my haircut is awful. She seemed very nervous right from the beginning. She was talking herself through the process the whole time almost like she didn't know what she was doing. I showed her my inspiration picture and she said that was an easy cut. She put the top half of my hair up and cut that short and "added the layers underneath", then let the top down and cut that just straight across. When she showed me with the mirror I told her it felt flat and that I want more dimension. She seemed upset by my request. She then cut underneath even shorter and added in a little bit of layering. She took texture scissors to my hair very aggressively to thin it out saying that adds layers. I feel bad writing a review like this because she is a very nice lady. But my hair looks so bad and now I'll have to find somewhere to fix it. I haven't had a haircut in years and was very much looking forward to getting a nice cut. I knew of this place because Coral did my hair for my wedding back in 2021, but today I had an appointment for a spiral perm with Cynthia and I was just blown away! Not only did she look at my hair to see what would work best, but she cut it in ways that really made my hair look healthier and my spiral perm stand up (and out) in the way that I was looking for! Cynthia was really easy to talk to (no awkward silences like you get with some stylists) and she listened to everything I explained when I told her what I was looking for. She even gave me tips for at home hair care, and for someone like me; who was never taught how to care for their hair, it meant a lot and I learned a lot!
