So much has changed in the past several years. For those who do not live close to Niceville and live in Navarre have no book store at Fort Walton. I drove all the way to Niceville for someone to ask me if I needed help and then tell me they were out of the book that I need. You would think that they would have an extra shipment due to having one bookstore. Then, the lady was rather rude about it like it was an inconvenience to answer my question on how i obtain the book I need. "Go online"...ok thanks I guess. I waited by the desk to check out and the gentleman helped someone else (not to mention having a very loud phone conversation when I walked in at first and saying how someone needed to be punched in the throat...words exact) and walked away from me. It was a yes or no answer. I then proceeded to the actual check out. I paid with a check so I can keep track of my spending for books besides a receipt so I can be able to see when and where I paid encase my receipt got lost and the GI Bill that I am using forget to send my book allowance..I want to have my own back and have a back up. The manager had to be called over so I can pay and I tried to make small talk in a situation I was made to feel uncomfortable with, I was given the cold shoulder and told "well next semester we wont accept checks". No hi how are you from the manager. That was the only thing she said to me. I will go else where for books. I know they were kind of busy for lunch time, but I do not need to feel like continuing my education is an inconvenience to them. If they cant hang they need to find a new job. I wasn't even rude to them and they need to realize not everyone is as nice as i am. The experience was ridiculous. Plus one bookstore? No extra shipments for the one bookstore and the third day of the fall semester? Ridiculous. Unfriendly and rude was my experience. I am not sorry my business was taken as an inconvenience. I did not go to the cafe so I don't have any response for that. It smelled good and that is the only thing making this...
Read moreWell, I was looking forward to a pretty negative experience today. I needed to pick up a book for my daughter that is dual enrolled. The reviews weren't all great so I thought, great, now I will waste time and be a burden. However, I was treated very respectfully with friendly and positive attitudes. (I'm guessing the problem lies with the phones, that nobody answers) The computer program that's used for the dual enrolled students wasn't working so it took a little longer but was able to get it completed, get the book and leave pretty quickly. I wanted to make sure that Shannon was recognized for her outstanding work. She never gave up and got everything taken care of. Rob was also helpful at the end to take down my daughters student number to be sure and get it all recorded on file, completely. I would've given a 5 but that place was so hard to find. It's not Shannon or Rob's fault, they deserve 5...
Read moreAwesome sandwiches and deserts, affordable and great quality, staff even get a discount with their staff ID/nametag. Their food is always freshly made. Swanky atmosphere. The whole store is pretty big but the coffee bar section is a little cramped with limited seating. If the tables are taken, try a table out in the building lobby/hall or in the courtyard in the front or back. The back courtyard has a massive sundial installation you can enjoy if you have the time.
729-5384 is the phone number I was able to reach them at. Press 1 to check store hours. On 4/21/15 their hours were: Mon., Wed., and Thur. 7:30-5pm, Tues. 7:30-6pm and...
