Schaar's Bluff Gathering Center — Local services in Nininger Township

Attended the (partial) Eclipse Viewing Party at Spring Lake Park Schaar's Bluff Gathering Center today. Glad I went, even though it was too cloudy to view the Eclipse. We could watch the NASA version on the big sceen there as it crossed the country. Free Wi-Fi is available. Such a beautiful park all the time, saw eagles, and other birds. They had a food truck there, and lots of friendly Park Rangers were available. They had beaded bracelets to make, as well as diy cardboard viewers for anyone to make and take. Plus viewing glasses for the Eclipse. Even a bonfire pit outside to keep warm. So much fun to visit with friends as well! Beautiful venue for special occasions or meetings as well. Shared an evening presented by the local Elk's Lodge. Filets and lobster were prepared to perfection. We are already looking forward to 2021. The park has excellent views north and west over the mighty, muddy Mississippi. River traffic has always been cathartic for me, whether it's man made or a gift from a higher entity. The Schaar's Bluff Gathering Center lawn is one of our favorites to setup chairs for a wedding ceremony! The pictures only gives a glimpse of the vast overlook. You're way up high looking west to the Twin Cities. There is typically a nice breeze and the secluded area is away from most park guests. We have yet to find a view...
