Food Lion — Local services in Norlina

First time shopper here. When I came in I was impressed. Everything stocked and priced. Clean looking. Had me really considering not making the drive to the other store I go to anymore. It was when I was checking out that the problem began. HORRIBLE, RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, treatment I got from the cashier Zippora that I WILL NEVER RETURN!!! Absolutely disgusting how she behaved! It all started when she went to put my bananas on top of my tomatoes. I said oh no you can’t put them in there it will squash my tomatoes. Apparently she didn’t like that. When she was done scanning, she just stood there, looking around like I was irritating her. I asked for the total. She ignored me. I said total? Ignored me again. I said is there a problem here? Do we need your manager over here to give me my total? This girl, pops off with I’m waiting for your mvp mpv card. And said it with such a hateful attitude. So I asked the lady at the next register if she could get a manager over here. There is so much more to this after that point. Needless to say LAST TIME shopping here!!! Back to the little bit of a drive to a store where the employees appreciate the customers (and customers appreciate the kind service they provide) and know if it wasn’t for us shopping there they wouldn’t have a job! She needs fired or find her a spot in the back of the store. The VERY BACK, where no customers are. Message for Zippora, customer service is not for you! Employees are friendly. The produce is awful. Sometimes I end up leaving the store without any produce because the berries, lettuce and even the broccoli looked terrible. Last time I shopped here, I bought two baskets of raspberries and when I got home and opened them, there were so many with mold I threw them away. Why were they still on the shelf? I’ve seen broccoli where the bottom of stock, on several bunches, was brown and mushy-yuck. Sadly it’s the only grocery in the area. One time I asked if they had fresher green leaf lettuce than what was on the shelf, kindly the employee went in the back and came out with more sad looking wilted lettuce.
