Hiked Annette Lake recently—perfect summer trail. No snow, just rich green forest, waterfalls, and that fresh PNW air that makes you want to pause and breathe. The trail is steady but manageable, mostly shaded, and well-marked.
The lake at the end is absolutely worth it—calm, clear, and peaceful. Kuminha went full joy-mode, swimming non-stop and making friends by the water. Her happiness alone made the hike unforgettable.
It wasn’t too crowded (early start helps), and the vibe on the trail was great—friendly hikers and lots of happy dogs. If you’re looking for a hike that recharges your energy without draining it, this one’s a gem.

The trailhead for this hike is just off exit 45 on I-90, about an hour min from Seattle. While being fairly large, it fills up quickly. You'll want to arrive early if you want a spot.
This is a dog-friendly and family-friendly hike, so long as the little is ok with the distance.

Waterfalls were severely depleted at this time of the year, but the trail still very beautiful. As per strava the trail was 7.17 mile however as per google it take 3 miles to reach the lake from trailhead. Elevation gain of 1800 to 1900 ft.
