Unfortunately not very organized for kids field trip today. Went with about 50 other children in just our group, plus at least 4 other busloads of other kids/parents/chaperones. We arrived and went on the hay ride .. Very cute. Then picked apples, but they only allow you to go within 2 lines of trees.. 3 apples per kid, perfect for the age group. Where things quickly fell apart was Ice cream time. They simply didn't have enough staff working to manage all of the groups of kids and parents etc.... There was a small inside area to order food. We ordered 2 sandwiches but didn't get them for almost a half HR after bring asked 3x what we ordered... Ice cream made its way outside only after the leader from the school had to ask the staff and then she was told " well we have some long lines here"..... It took about 20 minutes to get the ice cream. After, other people from other parties filed in to order from the grill, only to be told afterwards "idk why she let you order"... Their busses arrived so they could leave, and all of them had to get their money refunded and were given cash back from the register. Overall the actual place is beautiful, but disorganized with larger parties of people. They just needed maybe 2 more people to work today to manage the crowds. Heard one of the employees say this was the rain date for most of the groups there today (, including us,)... But they should have allowed different dates for rain dates if they weren't able to fully staff it to run it. The place is cute and the kids loved it, just got really antsy when the ice cream took a...

I stopped by this lovely orchard after work one Saturday and spent a really nice time there! I took some maple sugar candy home along with apples, and enjoyed visiting with the animals very much. This orchard is very, very clean. I will try ice cream or the food another time. It looked inviting and good. Great place if you want to get away for a bit, and feel like you stepped back in time... wooden barns, a water wheel, pumpkin patch and hay maze, corn maze... Very friendly, too. It made my day to spend time here on Saturday. During this stressful and challenging time, its nice to have an outdoors place to be able to see others having fun at a distance and enjoy laughter and nature and smiles. Oh... also, the pies. I will definitely get one next time I am there. They look AMAZING. Impressive, clean and fun... ((thank you)) for a wonderful little get away. Macoun apples,...

in the North Branford Countryside, Rose Orchards is the sort of rural business that does a bit of everything.

On hot summer afternoons you’ll be enticed by its frozen custard, and the almost limitless choice of sundaes, milkshakes, some mixing fresh fruit grown on the farm.

The PYO fruit season at Rose Orchards lasts from the end of June to the end of October, beginning with strawberries and ending with pumpkins, via blueberries, peaches, raspberries and lots of different apple varieties.

All of this produce is on sale at the farm stand, as well as cheeses, Connecticut maple syrup, pickles, preserves, fresh dairy products and pies in 14 different flavours.

And if you come with an appetite, Buck’s Grill serves up burgers, wraps, sandwiches, hot dogs and salads, as well as a tasty...
