I just went to Scare Farm today, and I was thinking about what to expect. I expected it to not be as scary because of the pandemic. When I got there, crowd was surprisingly high. The food line was pretty long, so was the line to go into the attraction. I will say a spoiler-ish thing. There is actually only 1 attraction, so basically you pay one price for one attraction. They put all 3 attractions (Creepy Hallow, Slay Ride, and Paranoia) into 1. I have to say, I was really impressed. The first attraction was Creepy Hallow. It is pretty good, it was definitely scary in my opinion! If you don't want a spoiler, don't read!! Creepy Hollow was basically the corn maze: the "theme" there was basically only clown and circus. As a clown HATER, I got very scared!! I have to say however, I was surprised to see that they get pretty close to you, even if they had masks on. After Creepy Hollow had ended, there was Slay Ride. In my opinion, this one might have been my least favorite. Yes it was pretty scary, but it was a little bit boring. The scares were far away, and the ride was uncomfortable. A lot of bumps, and the scariest part was riding the tractor itself. After the ride, came Paranoia. This one was my absolute FAVORITE!! I loved the idea, it was VERY long, and it was actually also a corn maze. A lot of unexpected scares, cool sets, and overall fun!! This is also my first time doing this because this is like my 3rd year, and I had only gone to the slayride. Overall, great place. Good scares, yet scary lines. I wish they could do this every year, because I liked the idea of all 3 attractions jammed into just 1 whole attraction. Would I come back?? Of course!! I forgot to mention the amazing job of the scare actors. Some were really funny, and some were very scary!! Another last thing I have to say is this isn't just an attraction that you walk through, there are some parts in Paranoia and Creepy Hallow that are interactive, like in Paranoia, there is a small "stairway", and all around you there is a giant thing that spins, even though it's very short, I loved the idea!! (SPOILER ALERT!!!! )You also might encounter a small hut-like place where it is filled with fog, like you can't see what is beyond you, and a man out of nowhere comes at you with a chainsaw, very scary yet a lot of fun!! I'd recommend if you are planning to go, as it is both...
Read moreScare Farm has been our kick-off to the Halloween season for almost a decade and never fails to evoke the harvest spirit. As a couple in our late 30s, there aren't many haunts we return to year after year, but Scare Farm is among the select few who reliably deliver on both spooky ambiance and overall enjoyment.
And, perhaps unexpectedly, changes made during the 2020 COVID season were so effective they've been made permanent (merging the hayride and walking trails into one continuous attraction). This allows guests to remain fully immersed in an ongoing experience while providing internal group spacing control you don't find at other haunts.
Scare Farm benefits from its natural outdoor environment and utilizes it to exceptional effect. There are many haunts in NJ/PA that are "technically" farm properties. But most just end up feeling like overdone carnival grounds. Here, there's no question you're on a farm out in the countryside. It sets the mood for autumn and the harvest season while also delivering what you'd expect from a nighttime haunt offering.
Scare Farm integrates actors, sets and special effects into the natural landscape, never allowing the manmade attraction to overwhelm the farm atmosphere. It's a core reason we return each year to start off the season.
Scare Farm also offers a farm market (we always get pumpkins/decorative hay bales/gourds here) where we're often asked for our feedback. Another indicator these owners take pride in what they do and genuinely care about guest experience. A concession booth with snacks and hot beverages provides a nice start/end to your time at the farm.
We're looking forward to another decade+ in spooky...
Read moreWorth the hour drive and money! I will come back next year if you guys do this again. Creepy hollow was the best part to be honest but the paranoia attraction was really good as well. All the actors were really scary, I screamed on multiple occasions and I liked that sometimes when leaving a building they'd follow you out the door it left me feeling like I had to look behind me every 5 seconds. The costumes everyone had were fantastic, sometimes I literally couldn't tell they were people until I was right in front of them because they'd blend into the field so well which made for some really scary situations. I think you guys did a wonderful job this year and it honestly made me wish I went to more events like these before October was over.
One thing though, I didn't really find a lot of the animatronic stuff on the hayride scary, it was cool to see but I think it would have only scared children. It was a lot scarier when actors would come on the ride with us and get up in peoples faces. I had fun regardless though because when we were being chased by vehicles we'd go really fast and it kind of felt like a rollercoaster in a way.
Oh and the staff were very helpful and nice people especially the ones that would let you into the next attractions (like the girl who was letting people into the paranoia attraction) they were always very kind to me and I enjoyed...
