Decker & Beebe, Inc. — Local services in North Canaan

My Viking stove was in need of repair. I searched & I called everywhere with no results.....I either had to have purchased my Viking from "that store/etc., etc....). Than I remembered in Cannan CT. was Decker & Beebe where I purchased not 1 but 2 Miele Vaccum cleaners in the past. I stopped by to see IF they would service my Viking. Sue Day replied "of course"!!! I told her I did NOT purchase it here....."not a problem" she replied !!! We made an appointment & Monday morning Sean appeared on time, friendly & so skilled & efficient......I was impressed. He was courteous, had great respect for my kitchen & was equipped with all he needed to repair & suggest how to care for my Viking stove. Sean also asked if any other appliance needed checking.....so we'll trained, polite & sincere he was. We shook hands & said the repair bill would come in the mail !!!! I was so pleased to have my stove 100% working again & one would never know that a repair expert was even here.....my kitchen was as spotless as before he did his work, which was a big job !!! Thank you Sue & Sean of Decker & Beebe. You are now in my phone forever. Another very pleased...

Horrible Experience and do not even waste your time unless you enjoy being taken advantage of and ripped off. I recently had a water heater install completed and to start with, It was NOT the correct model I ordered and a cheaper model was installed and I was over charged almost $300 on the water heater alone. I was quoted 3 hours labor and the job only took 1 hour and 15 minutes in total from arrival to departure. I had also shut off and drained pipes myself and since when after a job is completed do they use your 11 year old parts on a new system and now it is the Customer's job to be required to purge the air from the system and told you should have hot water in a half hour or so?? Please do not think A local company is the way to go because apparently a mans word is no longer valued and when you see the employees eating lunch or your time after they left, it leaves a very sour taste in one's mouth. Needless to say; First and last experience with this company and a costly Lesson Learned in...

We have used this wonderful, local company for many years. Not only are they extremely helpful when purchasing equipment - stoves, washing machines, dryers, etc. - but they also patiently answer questions and concerns with existing machines. No question is too basic, and when asked if it is in your best interest to keep and repair or purchase a new machine, I am always reassured with their responses knowing they will be honest and genuinely concerned for the consumer (and ones pocketbook). When an emergency presents itself - a ring fallen down the sink drain, a dryer that doesn't dry, for example - Decker & Beebe employees will bend over backwards to quickly schedule an appointment. The people who are employed at the store are fabulous, from the person answering the phone to the scheduler to the men who come to your house, they are all polite, helpful and efficient.
