If you’re in the Maggie Valley area, make it a point to stop by the Soco Tower. I don’t know of any other observation area with an admission as low as 50 cents, and the view is truly breathtaking. I visited with my family (including my two small children) and though my mom senses were going berserk from the height, the whole experience was quite safe and secure. I didn’t spend much time browsing the actual store, but I noticed a wide variety of souvenirs available and the prices didn’t seem outrageous. The staff were friendly and welcoming as well. The tower itself is the highlight of this attraction, though there are lower observation areas available for those who are unable or hesitant to venture up quite so high. The top observation deck is fenced for safety and offers several viewing scopes. The photos speak for themselves. You can’t get this kind of view from just anywhere. Worth far more than the price...

I'm trying to think where I am right now actually. Have a great day today no matter...

Of course, the tower is simply a way to get folks in the shop. It's a small shop, but manages to pack in a decent selection of grab-n-go eats, sundries, gifts, and souvenirs. It's a picturesque shop that is the very definition of a roadside shop and is perfect for a feature film location.
Do stop when passing by. Buy some molasses. And climb the...
