Some objective facts about my experience with JP Automotive. Got a little attitude on the first phone call; âWhen can I bring my car in?â âYou can bring it in at 3 AM for all I care but we get here at 8.â Figured oooookay, just gonna be that type of shop then đ Dropped my car off for some brake work. They call me to tell me I âmay also need calipersâ. Just got my brakes done a year and a half ago so calipers didnât make much sense but okay, youâre the professionals, just asked for some proof of this. It is very common practice for a mechanic to show photographic evidence of an inspection before doing a high cost job. They sent zero photos of calipers, just a photo of the outside of one rotor. Did not even provide so much as a brake pad measurement. Decided to let this go for now but begged them to PLEASE call me before doing the work if calipers needed replacement. Emphasized this several times. Wanted proof if so. Next phone call I receive is âwelp your brakes are done and we did the calipers too!â Felt very walked all over and Iâll never know if information given to me was truthful or not because they did the work before I could ask again for photos. Also put cabin filter in improperly so now itâs rattling, and left items from my glove box all over the floor. Thought Iâd found a great new mechanic and left dejected and with a bad taste in my mouth. Your typical male mechanic/young female customer experience I suppose đ Bonus star because my brakes arenât loud anymore, so...
Read moreI had used them for years until recently. I brought a car in for diagnostic work and it sat for months untouched. I also brought 2 tires in for mounting and balance because one tire had a nail. The price for mounting and balance was $75. When I asked why so much, the guy taking my money just shrugged. I asked at drop off for good tire to be returned. Upon pick up, the tech didn't know which old tire was good. As we were trying to figure out which tire was good, the owner comes along and says, "what are going to look at f'n tires all day?" I left and never went back. I haven't referred anyone again. I won't go into details but my bmw need an alignment. I had it done here, still the same. Brought it back and paid again, same thing. I brought it to a shop in New Haven off the parkway and they did it. They said a tie rod end was stuck and couldn't be replaced or moved without torching it. I had to pay more, but it was good now. This goes to prove jp automotive never did...
Read moreWent on my lunch break for emissions testing. They are located right behind JRoos. There are parking spots specifically for emissions cars. I went in and handed them $20 cash and my keys. Didn't even have to tell them what car. I sat and waited about half hour and a guy came out, Cody is name in the test result certificate- and told me I passed, handed me my keys, opened door for me and I was on my way. I got back to work, logged on to renew my registration, and it was already updated - prior to trying beforehand, i couldn't renew bc it flagged me as being late with my testing. So the update is basically real-time! Great service! Also, there is an atm inside if you don't have cash. There was water, coffee, and tv, and you can see your car on another TV monitor being looked at. They have a big screen as well, that lists prices for different services. They are very transparent, friendly, and professional. Kudos...
