Have visited this store 3 times. Twice wanting to talk abut slot cars as I’m new to the hobby and want to develop a relationship with a local hobby store. They are about 25 minutes from me and not the closest but they have some of what I want. Both times I was briefly helped by a bigger bald gentleman. Neither experience was memorable. The third time I went back was to tell them there was a problem with their website. When you click on it, you’re directed to Bill and Walt’s Hobby shop for balsa wood. The same man said, “Not possible. I don’t have a website.” I tried explaining that on google, he has a website but it doesn’t go to his. He kinda chuckled a little and repeated, “That’s not possible, I don’t have a website.” Then I SHOWED him on my phone what I was talking about and he said, “Not my problem I don’t have control over that. It goes to facebook.” Then another employee actually did what I showed him and told the bald guy it was not going to Facebook and said, “I’ll fix it now.” I looked at the bald guy and he asked, “Is that all you needed? Did you need anything in person?” At that moment I realized I didn’t like his customer service or his dismissive tone and comments so I said no, thanked them and left. I will never shop there. In the past 30 days I’ve invested over $600 mostly at hobby shops but some online and wanted to buy 2 or 3 new cars, maybe $140 to $160. Not much but it adds up to a relationship and an investment over time. Take your slot car business...
Read moreWell stocked hobby shop with a focus on trains and Rc vehicles. If you need it they probably have it, and if they don’t they can get it for you quickly. They recently expanded their rc section and it is simply Awesome. Huge verity of rtr, builder kits, parts and accessories from all the brands. Staff is incredible, they will go out of their way to help you with any question or need and won’t leave you hanging. Aways polite, and ready to set you up with what you need, not push you into something you don’t. I needed a part for my sons rc, they did not have it in stock but they went as far as sourcing the part from one of their personal vehicles so my son could enjoy his truck on an trip we were leaving for that day. Incredible! Let’s see Amazon do that. Give the local shops like this one business, this is what keeps the hobby alive (and our country). They have your back! Well...
Read moreHorrible, just horrible. First off, I can’t believe the fire department hasn’t shut them down. There are boxes full of junk stacked to the ceiling and you have to walk down an aisle sideways to get through. I went there looking for 1/35 scale military figures. When I asked the guy for help, I could tell he wanted nothing to do with me. He was only interested in going through a box full of old R/C car parts. He then told me that I meant 1/72 scale because 1/35 scale is huge and not what I want. I have been painting scale figures for over 35 years. The moment he opened his mouth I knew he didn’t have a clue. I will not return, this place is a rat trap with...
