My husband and I decided we wanted to check out some of the cute stores in North Manchester. He wanted to show me the store we he previously had purchased one of my favorite ponchos from. As we was entering she told the previous shopper to come back later to pick something up that she would be there late that evening. When we walked in the store the owner asked if we was shopping for a particular age group and she would point us in the right direction. I said no, we just wanted to look around and that my husband had bought stuff for me from here before. My husband asked how much a tshirt was. She replied $42. My husband replied we canât afford that. What he meant is he didnât want to spend that much for the person that he was looking at it for, not that we couldnât afford to pay for it. She told us we should go to some of the other boutiques up town but assures us that they charge closer to $50 for their t shirts. She immediately told us that she was getting ready to close and that we needed to leave. I thought well maybe she had to be somewhere at noon and would reopen later as the website says she is open until 9pm. We went to a couple other stores and went back that direction about 40 minutes later and her open sign was still on the door. She met us at the door and said she was leaving now. We could have looked the entire 40 minutes that she was still there. I asked if we had done something to offend her and she proceeded to walk out the door and close the door behind her and go into the door next to that building and told us we needed to leave. My husband told her she shouldnât be in business if that how she treats people. She told us we needed to leave or she would call the cops on us. Call the cops on us for trying to shop at her store? When we left the open sign was still on the door. There were clothes still displayed outside the door. And as we were driving away, she came back down to the front door. I have never been so insulted in my life. I have never been kicked out of a store. We always looked for unique clothing for my mother in law at boutiques. Her loss, we will go...
Read moreThe owner was very rude to my daughter and I as we were being friendly and trying to make conversation about how cute downtown North Manchester is new to the area, etc and how it would be great to get more stores to bring in more business- so much potential! Her comment in a sarcastic voice, âHow about you focus on the store youâre inâ and then abruptly told us she âIs closing nowâ. We were both taken aback by her odd behavior! My daughter and her husband are new to the area and she was excited to show me the downtown-which is such an adorable Main Street! Unfortunate to have been treated like that by a store owner! It was 4:45 when we were...
