There are not many legitimate lodging options in North Manchester, but you will not be disappointed with the Fruit Basket Inn.||||You will be warmly greeted by the owner. You will be asked when you would like your breakfast in the morning. The restored home has a relaxing front room where guests can mingle and enjoy Keurig coffee. If you go upstairs, you will see four bedrooms. Two of them have private bathrooms. Two bedrooms share one. You will find a comfortable king-sized bed with a tasteful decor and compatible furniture in each.||||The two bedrooms in the front are next to the road, and the room in the back gets ample heat. Though the showers are small, the water is hot.||||Breakfast may include fresh fruit, orange juice, coffee, a baked muffin, eggs, potatoes and a meat at an attractively arranged table. The owner serves you and also shares stories about the town.||||You will be given a key to the front door, so you can come and go as you please. The cost is reasonable, and the check-out was seamless. ||||We will definitely return!||||PS: The original owners were Fruitt; therefore the different spellings of the...
Read moreI was born in North Manchester as were my parents, brothers, aunts, uncles, and cousins. We moved away in the middle of my second grade, but continued to visit the place over the decades. I have a great fondness for this town. Imagine my even deeper satisfaction when I discovered this bed and breakfast and booked it for two nights so I could celebrate my last surviving aunt's 80th birthday. My room was clean and comfortable, even having its own separate bathroom. Wifi was available as well as my own door key to the house so that I could come and go as I pleased. Breakfast was made personally by the hostess, an engaging and lively person with a story of her own regarding her connection to the town. I had a most pleasant stay in this charming house and the frosting on the cake was the reasonable price of the room. This is a place I would return to in...
Read moreWe had a great stay at the Fruit Basket Inn. This was our first outing since covid 19 started. My husband was training for a big bicycle ride We had not planned ahead for lodging because we weren’t sure how far he’d ride that day. I knocked on their door and was happy to find out that they were accepting guests. We had a king size bedroom, that included a small comfortable sitting area. The shower was great. Eileen and Bob were very accommodating letting my husband store his bike and equipment. We spent time relaxing on the big front porch and walking around town. Eileen prepared a great breakfast, twice! Once when my husband left for his biking at 6:30am and again for me at 9am! They have plans to paint and update the exterior this fall. We’d highly recommend The...
