Heights Flowers-Plant Farm — Local services in North Pekin

My mother, daughter & I stopped at Heights Flowers in Pekin on Mothers Day 2016 on a recommendation. We've always had good luck at the Heights Flowers in the Heights so thought this would be the same. My mom had a list of plants that she was interested in getting. I handed the list to the (one of?) owners. He looked at me and said "Really? On Mothers Day weekend?". At that point I tried taking the list back twice and he wouldn't hand it back to me. My mom actually told him that she didn't think his attitude was appropriate to which he responded "There is a lot going on". Instead of taking the opportunity to apologize he just dug himself deeper. Now just for clarity let me say that they were not very busy and there were several employees just standing around so whether it was Mothers Day weekend or not made very little difference. Rather than actually taking us to where the plants were he gave us directions (outside, this direction and so many rows over). As I said they were not very busy and definitely had staff available. If it was too taxing for the owner to take care of he could have had an employee help us. After the poor treatment we decided to not spend any money there. We got in the car and drove to Hoerr's Nursery. While they were significantly more busy I walked up to an employee with my list and she spent time walking from plant to plant with us. After we left Hoerr's my mom called the Heights Flowers Pekin location and talked to the same gentleman that was so rude and let him know that we didn't buy any flowers at his location but did spend almost $160 at Hoerrs. His response was "Hoerrs are nice people too." No sir, too implies that you are. Hoerr's is you are not. He had a perfect opportunity to apologize, for the second time, and once again blew it. We previously divided our gardening budget between Heights Flowers & Hoerrs. Heights Flowers will not getting any of our money from here on out and I will also make it my mission to let everyone know that Heights Flowers has horrible...

I got the worst assistance that is possible....well, there was no assistance. I asked it they had some specific plants. The young man told me to go out into the green house and take a left after I went over the small bridge. I couldn't find the flowers (since I had never actually seen this plant "in person") so I went back. He still didn't go out to show me, but repeated his instructions. Always a pleasure going to Heights Flowers Plant Farm!!!!! They always have such beautiful plants and flowers. I was allowed a tour of their green houses. To see how much work and effort that is put into the growing and the care of the plants that is put in so that their customers get quality plants and products is amazing.
