Love the optometrist examination that has more modern equipment than most outside optometrists. Love the hearing center hearing tests that correlated 100% with audiograms from audiologists outside Costco. For the first time after wearing hearing aids for nine years, I was properly fitted with hearing aids and shown how to place them in my ears! Costco hearing specialists want me to come in every month to have my hearing aids serviced. Previously, I would come in about three times a year and often I did not wear my hearing aids because I thought hearing aids did not work for me.
Of course the gasoline prices are the best . Also, you get cash back on purchases of all merchandise thru their credit card. I also like the fact that Costco seems to keep current on the best rated merchandise and is constantly introducing new items. I do wish they would offer more choices on decaf coffee whole beans. Decaf ground coffee does not last as long as regular coffee. One must be careful on buying large quantities of grocery items that you might not need. However, often these large containers are almost the same prices as smaller items at other stores. Also, I wish Costco would carry fat free lactose free milk in cardboard containers - I am trying to avoid micro plastics. Likewise, Costco should be carrying low fat cheeses. Nutritionists say that we should only be buying dairy products. with no more than three grams of saturated fats. I do appreciate the frozen meat products at Costco that have no nitrites or nitrates.
Í also like the 20 or so checkout lines with many that have a real cashier. The cashier's are very helpful and the lines move fast. I found a way to deal with the boxes needed to carry items out of the store. Costco provides empty boxes, but later I have to break them down at home for recycling. A better way: rather than disposing of empty boxes each time, save them and put them in the car trunk Next time you come to Costco, don't get new boxes. Roll your cart to your car and fill the empty boxes...
Read moreWent last week with my mom and sister to check it out and get her a membership and took over 40 minutes to get a membership, the workers were extremely rude not to mention. Walked around the store and was just looking at stuff because we’ve never been in a Costco, we usually go to Sam’s and after my experience here I’ll stick with Sam’s. There was a woman at checkout approaching everyone that had more than one person with them asking whose membership they were using and standing over them at checkout making sure the guest didn’t try to buy something. When we started checking out, (we had two carts) so to make it faster we just went to two separate checkouts because it was extremely busy so we just wanted to get out as fast as we could and immediately the worker approached me and asked who’s membership I was trying to use and I told her it was my moms stuff we were using separate lanes to make it faster for checkout and she was basically breathing down my neck while I was ringing things until she noticed another family go to a checkout lane and she immediately walked over to them and guess what? Asked them who’s membership they were using. The man’s friend that was with him had some stuff in the cart and said they were going to to two separate transactions and she heard that and immediately closed out the transaction and told him he couldn’t do that and made him take his cart all the way over to costumer service and told him to leave!!! As much as people pay for memberships, their guest that come with them should be able to buy whatever they want!!! It’s insane to me that if your guest wants to buy something, they have to be added to the account and have the same address as the membership holder. It’s a grocery store, literally nothing else. Why are the guest rules...
Read moreThis review is specifically for Costco Optical in North Port Florida. 2 weeks ago I did the stupidest thing and sat on my sun glasses! The sound of crunch, crunch made me feel that these were not repairable. I took my glasses into Costco and told them what happened. The young lady at the counter reassured me that they are fixable. She then spent about 15 minutes unbending and untwisting the mess. She cleaned the lenses and handed them back to me good as new! I was so grateful and even more surprised when it cost nothing! A week later at the golf course I was putting my sun glasses on when everything on one side fell apart. When I got home I reviewed the frame and found that either the frame screw hole or the screw or both were stripped out. After speaking with my wife we were ready to get a new set of frames. I headed back to Costco and explained to another young lady what I thought and that I was ready to purchase new frames if I needed to. She confidently stated that their screws that they use are self tapping so even if the frame hole was stripped out the screw would fix it. She fixed the broken side and tested it, then she undid the non-broken side and said she is going to retap that one as well. Again about 15 to 20 minutes later she handed my glasses back to me. This time I tested each lens and each side of the frame and found that they were as sturdy as ever! Major kudos to Costco and Optical Manager Brittanie Zielke for assembling such a wonderful and skilled staff! You never really know awesome customer service until you are in a major bind and then Costco customer service comes to your rescue!
Thank you all, sincerely thank you!
