This place is the best place in the Sneads Ferry, Topsail, Jacksonville area. I found the Midgett family 3+ years ago by going to Jacksonville to visit my daughter. I will admit I went to another seafood house for clams and we were NOT happy. The next time then found Midgett and Sons and have NEVER gone or would EVER go any place else. The have the freshest of fresh seafood, you name it they’ve got it. Even this week they were beyond kind, have morals, integrity and ethics by letting us know along with being EXTREMELY apologetic about their display cooler being down and having to bag some of their seafood up until the repairman comes to fix their display cooler. Nevertheless got home fired up the grill and the seafood was still fresh and stood up to their integrity of being fresh. If you’re in town visiting or just live close by do yourself, friends and family the favor of letting your taste buds enjoy the freshest seafood y’all could ever have!!!! I was in the "mood" for fresh red snapper. I called in advance, was assured by a very nice lady that, indeed, they had fillets in stock, never frozen. Made a quick trip from Jacksonville. Picked out what I wanted, they bagged it, adding ice, and we were off and running. I have a Blackstone Griddle, a birthday gift from my wife. Kosher salt, a little pepper and a special rub that we make ourselves, a medium hot griddle, and the fillets went meat down. Added chopped onions and peppers (a mixture) on a cooler part of the Blackstone with some olive oil, and we were off and running. About 6 minutes later (could have been 8...I don't count, I look at the fish as it's cooking), then flipped it over...liked what I saw, let it cook at reduced heat for another 5 minutes or so, covered both fillets with the peppers and onions, turned the heat off, made sure table was ready...and away I went. I just want to thank the owners of this place for introducing me to bee pollen and the their raw honey. They have a ton of other great stuff. But this review is going to focus on the bee pollen. My Wife and I tried for the past 10 years to get pregnant. Not matter what we did it just didn’t happen. A year ago when picking up some milk I asked about the bee pollen and someone also shopping there said don’t eat it unless you want to get pregnant. I laughed and then said really though?!?!? The owners swore by it and so did the other shopper so I thought I mean why not try it. I am happy to say that as of April 2 I am now a proud father.
