Sneads Ferry Tire & Auto — Local services in North Topsail Beach

I've been using Sneads Ferry Tire & Auto since around 2014 when I first moved to the area. This particular recent visit was for a routine oil change and tire rotation. The front desk area was clean and well-organized. Upon entering I was greeted with a friendly smile and recognition by Autumn. She, Matthew, and Zack are great at making sure I'm well informed about any changes in work needed. This visit I was introduced to their new invoicing system, which is quite easy to read and understand. From this link sent via text, I was able to view pricing of the services I requested before signing the agreement for them to do the work. At check out, I was able to see the mechanic's recommendations for other services which were on point for my vehicle and completely reasonable in pricing. The current owner (not new for a couple years now), Kenny, is awesome and cares about his customers. He asks how the kids and my husband are, makes sure to ask if I was taken care of during this visit. The previous owner, Jim, was the same way. In June 2024 I took a family vacation in the area. My truck AC went out during the trip and I had Sneads Ferry Tire and Auto repair it. They changed out the compressor for around $1200. The AC went out again in July 2024 and I had to drive almost 3 hours back there to get it repaired again. In August 2025 the AC goes out again and I drive the 3 hours again there to be told now that the condenser needs to be replaced for another $1100. They said the freon leaked out but they could put more in and it may last through the rest of the summer or may drain out in 1 day. I asked them if they could put a little in and tell me how fast it was leaking out. They said they would not be able to tell immediately. I told them to put some in and I would take my chances. As soon as they put it in and I paid for it all of a sudden they could tell me that it was coming out really fast. Ironic huh?? Also I have called other mechanics in my area and they have quoted the same job for only $450 vs $1100. Don't use...

Had a great experience here! I needed my work truck serviced for an oil change, tire rotation, engine air filter and cabin air filter. I called to make an appointment and they were able to get me in the next day, told me it would take around an hour and got me scheduled! When I got there the front staff was very friendly and polite and took care of me very quickly. As I waited in the lobby for my vehicle to be finished, I noticed how professionally and friendly they were with every single customer and delivery drivers and really liked how organized everything seemed to be. I've had a lot of bad experiences with other auto shops nearby and was very relieved to see this one operating so smoothly with staff that vet obviously care about their customers and give them their full attention until they move on to the next one....
