Techny Prairie Park and Fields — Local services in Northfield Township

A part of Techny Prairie & Field is a trail, 'a Trail Trough Time' located next to the Anetsberger Golf course and Northbrook sports field, and railroad tracks. It was a pleasant surprise when I first found it during my first walk in my new neighborhood. While walking, my imagination was walking through time as well; life of Potawatomi people in the Great Plains, pioneer families daily life in a one room sod homes growing corns, beans and squash in a apron garden. Many birds flying over this wide open prairie making noises wich made a perfect harmony with the sound from the railroad. Sponsored to beginner... Space for everyone. This skatepark is very well laid-out to help everyone keep out of the way of each other... which is critical. Tons of quarter pipe wall with constant grade and huge easy-in ramps. Excellent bowl with interesting cuts and angles. Cement in very good shape... Except for rough patches in the bowl. Massive perimeter track with great rails and Manny pads and tons of whoop de do's and ramps that go all the way around the park. Fantastic place to catch the sunset, get some fresh air, and meet the neighbors! The park even has a book box!! Each visit has been different. Sometimes the fields are filled with teams practicing. Other times, the trails are filled with people walking their dogs. And one time, there were people making snow angels just off the pond. I had a photoshoot closer to the sledding hill.
