Royal Nails — Local services in Northville Charter Township

My mom's friend swears by this place, so I thought I'd check it out since I needed my nails done for a family wedding this weekend. The staff were super friendly when I walked in, and even though the salon was busy, they immediately made me feel comfortable and got over to a station. Jessie did my nails and eyebrow waxing and did an amazing job on everything! I don't just go to a nail place to get my nails done, I go to have an overall great experience, which definitely includes service. Jessie definitely talked to me and never talked in another language about my crappy cuticles or bushy eyebrows, like I know they do at other salons I've been at.

I got a french manicure with shellac and a french pedicure without shellac and my eyebrows done, but I was amazed at how expensive everything is since there's no prices listed or anything. I guess french and shellac are both extra, which I wasn't aware of, but without the extras, a mani-pedi comes to around $40 and the eyebrow waxing was only $10. Even though my nails turned out to be more expensive than I would normally pay for, I still rate this place excellent because of the quality of the work done was fabulous, it's for a special occasion, and the staff are all friendly and professional! Do not go to Royal nail for a mani/pedi. I was there last night and I do not think they used sterilized tools as the nail tech went right from another customer to me without getting new tools. Plus, I left my nail polish there, called ten minutes later, talked to a person who said they found my nail polish and would leave it at front desk - now they claim not to have it. My daughter has gone here three times for a shellac manicure and all three times, the polish chips after two to three days. Trust me, she is not doing anything that causes excessive wear!
