NEED A QUICK "GET-AWAY," WITH ABSOLUTELY SWEEPING SCENIC VIEWS?. Well, in my opinion, the Skyline Rail offers some of the BEST vista perspectives in town.
Today, for the very first time on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, I rode the Skyline Rail from the Aloha Stadium out to Kapolei Train Station and back.
I picked up my free Senior Holol Holo Bus / Rail pass for no charge (other Adult Holo Holo passes are available at 7-11 and Times Supermarkets.
The Sky Rail ride was wonderful. On a nice sunny clear day the views are spectacular.
And, the train service is great. A train, in my estimation, comes by every 11 minutes or so. So, one's wait for the next train is minimal.
I highly recommend this adventure for members of the whole family.
Note: Bathroom facilities are not available at train stations. Please plan your trip accordingly. To be sure, the Aloha Stadium stop did have a porta potty at the edge of public parking on the...
Read moreTook Skyline from Halawa station to the end by Kapolei. Easy access, new and clean. Frequent arrivals and departures. Quiet. Wonderful views from the rail cars. Fun to be able to sit in the front either direction you go. Convenient. Easy to figure out how to get a Holo card, pay fare, go thru the gates, etc. Also love the 2.5 hr free transfer period. Allows you to go to East Kapolei, do some shopping/have a meal, and ride back for free. Sure beats driving!
Not 5 stars because of 2 things: The ride is much more wobbly/bumpy than expected Park and ride is at the UH-West Oahu stop, not the East...

Watched the news this morning and can’t believe all the officials crowing about the new design of the Holo card. Who cares?! Maybe you’ll get more ridership with better hours and a proper shuttle to and from...
