NOTE: Google Maps has the location of Sierra Point wrong. The location with the pin is actually Yosemite Point. If you check the map near the Mist Trail you will find Sierra Point. (I submitted feedback but it was not accepted.)

Sierra Point is of the best kept secret trails that tons of people know about in Yosemite. See 5 waterfalls from one lookout, 800 feet above the Mist Trail.

The Sierra Point Trail has actually been around for over 100 years. It’s the very spot in which a very young Ansel Adam’s took his very first photos with his camera and decided he wanted to become a photographer. That was 1916.

A chunk of the trail was taken out by a rockfall in the 1970s…which is why you won’t find it on any park map today. It’s still there and accessible if you know what you’re doing.

The portion that was taken out my the slide is now a small scramble which even I could do…and I’m no mountain climber. Just make sure to read up on how to get there before you leave. It’s right off the Mist Trail and 800 feet in elevation. It took me a couple times to find the old trail but it was...

It was the toughest hike I have ever tried with may small kids (6 & 4years old). We stared the hiking at 07:00am and it was not that hard to hike till upper falls bottom part(got there at 09:00am). when we stared to go up the 2nd switch back, sun came out ans had to stop every 2nd corner. My 4 years old son could go all the way to upper Yosemite by himself and we got there at 11:30. after lunch we went up the yosemite point and view was great!! We started gondown at 13:30 and got to the trail...

This point is a hidden gem in Yosemite Valley. Because of a rock slide, the trail was closed long ago, but you can still get to the point by doing some bouldering off the main trail to Vernal Falls. The hike up is steep and sometimes difficult to follow, since it's not officially maintained. Once you reach the point, you'll find an old railing on a narrow point that provides panoramic one-of-a-kind views of the valley. A great place to see spectacular views away...
