A must visit spot in Yosemite.

Tunnel View is a scenic overlook located at the east end of Yosemite Valley, in Yosemite National Park, California. The overlook is named for the nearby Wawona Tunnel, which was carved through the granite cliffs to provide park visitors with access to the valley. From the overlook, visitors can see some of the park's most iconic features, including Half Dome, El Capitan, and Bridalveil Fall.

The view from Tunnel View is truly breathtaking. Half Dome, the park's most recognizable rock formation, towers over the valley at 8,800 feet, and El Capitan, a granite monolith that is a popular destination for rock climbers, rises up from the valley floor. Bridalveil Fall, a 620-foot waterfall that flows from the Merced River, can be seen in the distance.

The overlook is a popular spot for photography, and many visitors come to Tunnel View to capture the stunning views of Yosemite Valley. The best time to visit is in the early morning or late afternoon, when the light is soft and the shadows are long.

In addition to the stunning views, Tunnel View is also a great place to learn about the history of Yosemite Valley. The park has a rich cultural history, and the Wawona Tunnel was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. The overlook is also a popular spot for birdwatching, and visitors may be able to spot a variety of bird species, including mountain bluebirds, western tanagers, and violet-green swallows.

Overall, Tunnel View is a must-see destination for anyone visiting Yosemite National Park. The breathtaking views of Yosemite Valley and the park's iconic rock formations are truly unforgettable, and the history and natural beauty of the area make it a truly...

The best spot in Yosemite in my opinion. This view overlooks the entire Yosemite Valley and offers viewers a classic traditional overview of Yosemite. Minutes away from the western side entrance to the park, you can not miss this as this leads you toward the eastern entrance and Centennial Dome and Glacier point. Get your cameras ready and smiles sharpened as you will want to take several photos here. A couple tips; This place is usually packed with tourists and parking can be a bit challenging during peak times. Be prepared for the foot and car traffic when attending. Best time to visit is early morning/sunrise and right after it snows for...

Go here first !!! This is the best bang for your buck, easiest way to enjoy the spectacular grandeur of Yosemite. Anyone who can sit in a wheel chair can get thrills here. Sunsets can get cold in the fall. For great photography without adding fake moons etc that will become challenge for us mortals who have a spouse, have plans for dinner (sunset turmoil) or just are not in good recent practice for the view is narrow and the amount of trees before the Village is quite long and extensive. Having a flowing waterfall is a great plus for any photo. This is also at the Wawona tunnel leading up to West Yosemite, Glacier Point, the Grove and...

Yosemite under a blanket of fresh snow. ⠀ ⠀ After two weeks of constant torrential downpour in The Bay - @ellekaiser and I accepted defeat and planned a quiet long weekend of coffee shop hopping, ordering in dinners and puzzle/move marathons. But a last minute weather check and an early morning wake up - I finally got to see Yosemite in the winter. It was nothing short of magical. ⠀ ⠀ 📍Tunnel View, Yosemite National Park, California, USA ⠀ ⠀ #yosemite #yosemitenationalpark #nationalparks #wintertravel #lifeoutdoors #visitcalifornia #lifeofadventure #earthpix #beautifuldestinations #reels

🏞️ If you’re wanting to catch the famous Tunnel View sunrise over Yosemite Valley, be sure to get there well before sunrise, as parking does fill up fast. No hiking is required, you simply park & make your way to the vista. From this vista you can take in the iconic views of El Capitan, Half Dome, and Bridalveil Fall. Be sure to check ahead of time to see how far you are from the Tunnel View parking lot because we were staying only 10 minutes from the park entrance, however it’s another 45 minutes to the lot. We woke up at 4am to get there in time, but we promise it’s worth it. 🫶🏼 Anyone planning a trip to Yosemite in the next year?! #yosemite #yosemitenationalpark #tunnelview #nationalparks
