Hi. Boyfriend lives in town near Rainbow Springs and we were looking to experience his community further so we booked this tour. We also have many colleagues come to town monthly and we were looking for activities to recommend for them. The tour started 30 min late. No problem with that however we werenât communicated with about this change and when we asked around, a female blonde guide for the charter said she âthinksâ itâs running late and then she took a nap on the dock until HER tour time popped up. She was not helpful. I messaged the tour group- luckily they had already texted me asking for a review before the tour even began, so I was able to communicate our confusion in what was happening and that we had no idea where our guide was and it was already ten after our start time. They were helpful. Finally our guide Andres showed up 30 min later. He did not introduce his name or the charter/company. He did not make an effort to ask our names or assess our skill levels in kayaking- skill level assessment is not important to me but may be to someone in the future and is a nice service skill to have a little safety talk/assessment especially since there were kiddos on the tour.
We got on the water easily. Andres was happy, personable, and pointed out things. He was helpful when we asked if he could take a picture of boyfriend and me. Andres highlighted the spot was a popular instagram/Tik Tok moment but didnât offer to stage the set up and photo for anyone. When we asked for a photo, minimal effort was made and his paddle-board was visible in the photo. An elevated experience for customers would be his attention to details with things like this.
At the end of the tour he gathered us to thank us and ask for a tip. Him and the female guide we briefly interacted with were definitely about themselves and working for tips and not looking out for customer experience/satisfaction nor did they appear to be looking out for the company they work for. They were new into customer service, addressing us as âyou guysâ all the time and seemed to be doing the job for tips.
I had a good time because I was with my boyfriend but we will likely not recommend this to colleagues that come out monthly. For those interested in a clear kayak versus not- the clear kayak didnât heighten our experience any. We didnât have a horrible experience but also didnât have one that wowed us or had us referencing it at the end of the week. Wasnât worth the money for the service we received. The creek, scenery and the nature was...
Read moreLisa has a compelling zeal and passion for what she does. I was surprised with her extensive knowledge, that she wasnât born and raised in Florida. I can tell she truly appreciates this beautiful spring, and all the life in it.
Now if your anything like myself and need an adventure to cleanse the bitter taste of life from your soul this is the zen your soul didnât know it needed. It is without a doubt the clearest water I have ever seen. The water stays warm even in the winter, could you imagine what that must be like. The shade of turquoise is a color Iâm convinced you will never see anywhere but here. The best part is your kayaks are transparent! Thatâs mind blowing because you can truly see right through that puppy into the crystal clear water, and let me just say itâs mesmerizing.
From start to finish We reserved online, signed our waivers online and paid online. How convenient is that!! We did have to pay $5.00 a person to enter the park honestly go earlier if you have time and stay later to take full advantage of the opportunity to swim in the river! We were greeted on site by Lisa, she went over some safety and tips we dropped into the water and began our tour! We even got out of our kayaks and walked to a spring we were able to stand in. The bugs are pretty active out there spray yourself with some bug spray! After the tour we paddled back said our goodbyes with an experience we will remember forever, thanks get up and go kayaking for the...
Read moreThis was our first kayak tour, so we didn't know what to expect. I was nervous, and we arrived too close to launch time to get a spot in the parking lot and had to park a mile away and shuttle in. Our tour guide Andres was kind and waited for us. The kayaks were pretty cool, the water was chilly but somehow perfect, the sun was spicy but not to the point of burning. We worked a little, we chilled a lot, and best of all, we had an AWESOME tour guide y'all! Not only was Andres an excellent physical guide on the river, but he also knew a lot of history about the area and the indigenous flora and fauna - to the point where you could tell he grew up on this river and loves it. He gave us time to swim and paddle around, try a rope swing, see some springs, and there was even a cool walk through this little stream off the river. Overall, it was worth the 2.5-hour drive and the money spent. p.s. you do have to pay $7 per person to get into the park/boat launch area, and if you need to use the shuttle it's $20 to park and get the ride. Don't bring anything plastic, not water bottles or food in plastic bags, no plastic at all. Also, you launch in Rainbow Springs from this cool park where you get to stay for the day (if you want) and you can paddle around or rent a tube and go downriver after the tour - so do the 11am tour and you'll be golden. Great bang for your buck! Will def be back! If you book a tour here, you have to...
