Marion Liquor — Local services in Ocala

Marion Liquor is by no means your large fancy place for wines and spirits. I came across this liquor store with a search for a specific item, that is not from this part of the country. Marion liquor came up as the place to try. So I did. It was an easy off and easy on access to Marion Liquor from 301, without having to turn around or such. The parking lot was small, as is the building that houses the store. But it is a very colorful blue color. Once inside, the gentleman behind the counter was friendly and quite helpful. I told him what I was looking for. He knew exactly where it was, down to the shelf it was located on. So I grabbed a few bottles, as well as some other bottles to accompany them. I do not buy these beverages all that often. So I decided to stock up since Marion liquor did have the special item that I came for. The man behind the counter took the time to paper bag each individual bottle to protect them from each other, as well as double bag the carrying bags that held multiple bottles. I found my visit to be quite pleasant. This was kind of an out of the way trip for me. So this would not be my normal place for these types of purchases. But if near by, I wouldn't think twice about...

Went into this place and was literally immediately judged and ridiculed while the man ignored a person who he was checking out to hurry up and keep ridiculing me for the way that I spoke and talked with my hands, he used the terms “stupid, retarded, redneck” and made me feel ashamed for the way I spoke just asking for where something was, super unporofessional and to use derogatory terms coming from him and the “ghetto” area we were in. I’d say he has nothing much that he should have said other than thank you for your business have a nice day and stay safe, as I had approached the day the tropical storm rolled through. So rude for someone who should even be greatful to have a job and work in America as he was clearly not even American but was quick to juddge me through the door as someone of color myself and Spanish...

Love the friendly, knowledgeable morning staff. Prices are great too. I originally posted a five-star. But I just left and this Latino from the Bronx ( he told me) started screaming racial slurs at me calling me a white redneck cuz I was waving my finger in the air. I was pointing the finger to my head because I was trying to recall what exactly the exact names of the two other products I was in there for. I came in with three items on my mind but I couldn't remember two of them. So he called me a white redneck. He said rednecks do that because they're looking down on people of color and I don't belong in this country and then he kept flipping me off Unless management fires this foul mouthed employee I will never be...
