Sweet Jane's Candy Store — Local services in Ocala

We visited Sweet Jane’s Candy Store in the spring of 2025. It isn’t all that large. But they have a decent assortment of sweet options. They are not like a lot of larger candy stores where you have and can buy a lot of the candy from our past and such. Yes they have candy. But not like some larger candy stores. Sweet Jane’s seems to consentrate more on their home made treats. Whether or not that is good, depends on your outlook or opinion. There is a section on the front wall that does have the self serve salt water taffy. So you can pick and choose depending on your taste. No it is not the largest assortment of taffy. But it is large enough to work for most taffy enthusiasts. Of course taffy is sold by weight, not individual items. There are homemade small pie’s and ice cream sandwiches and other non ice cream style treats. I’m not sure what actually falls under the Whoopie Pie name. But there is a good amount of home made style treats. Like a lot of sweet shops like this, prices tend to be on the higher side (depending on one’s opinion). But I think this is common when you’re dealing with what could be considered a specialty or tourist type business or shop. I didn’t feel that prices were outrageous. But I expected that they would be a little higher than normal. Of course, keep in mind that a lot of things are also of homemade goodness. Made right on site. So maybe, prices are not as high as some might feel. All in all, Sweet Jane’s are a nice little sweet shop. I’m very confident that we’ll be back when...

Drove 45 mins to here for the first time. Caught traffic on the way and. Called to let them know I drove very far and i was 2mins away(7 mins from closing time). Walked in and she was very rude, short and unwelcoming to my family and I. Ignored what ai said to her . she was so rude and told my daughter to pull up her mask 4 times. She kept smacking her lips acting like she was frustrated and wanted to go home. Which i completely understand BUT if you want my money all you could atleast be nicer! Will not be back. Never said hello or welcome or thank you for coming. So rude! I will not waste my money here if i were you! Not worth the drive either. And her prices are insane!!! Waste of...

This sore is an experience that you must do first hand. The candy is like a blast from the past, so many old style yummiest. Jams, jellies, relish, salsa, and honey!! Homemade chocolates are outrageously delicious from Buckeyes and fudge to turtles and huge Double Dipped Chocolate Covered Cherries. Homemade Ice Cream Whoopie Pies and Strawberry Shortcake...yes, please! Gifts galore!! And drinks! The #1 item in the store is the Whoopie Pies! From the original to the gourmet to the minis to the chocolate dipped minis. What can I say about the staff? Very knowledgeable about the store and the history of the Whoopie Pie. They are extremely nice...
