Secret Garden Floral Design — Local services in Oconto

While in town for taking in the CopperFest Parade, my family found ourselves setting up camp in front of Secret Gardens Floral Designs. This rather charming shop is quietly nestled in a very old town looking business district within this pleasant little NE Wisconsin city ( US-41 Travelers; it's well worth jumping off the highway for!).

Being the hopeless romantic, I slipped away from my group to check out the local fare. Stephanie and her faithful assistant ( daughter!) were more the welcoming next-door neighbor than local shopkeep. They took personal interest and joy in my search for a small token for my unaware beloved just outside the door.

What this endearing little boutique lacks in outward visible size is more than compensated for in personal service, aviance, character and value.

Functionally speaking, I found more than an adequate selection for my taste; with the hint that more may have been available in the back yet.

Secret Gardens reminiscently took me back to both my hometown flower shop in lower Michigan, and the boutiques we visited while traveling with our native friends in Germany. In both cases, quantity and expanse, took a backseat to personal service, artistic excellence, and unsurpassed quality of product. There is no doubt in my mind, that if we were locals, Stephanie would find us as regular customers. For certain, if I have any floral needs in this neck of the woods – she will certainly be hearing from me again!

Oconto itself is a fabulous representation of what the quiet upper shoreline woods of NE Wisconsin has to offer. Stephanie & Secret Gardens fit all too perfectly into that genre as well. Both are well worth a slide off the beaten path. Tell...

June 6th, 2024, I messaged Stephanie a couple of days prior to a local parade in town, asking for a long-stemmed bouquet for my sister who was elected Grand Marshall of the parade.
