Joyce Essentials — Local services in Odenton

I really did not want to come here and put a review on this company but there's just been too many problems and I feel as though everyone should know about them before doing any kind of business with this company.

The first incident - I placed an order and it was two hours late for delivery. When I called the location , no one answered I was then called back by a number that I was unfamiliar with, and it turned out to be someone from that location. They told me that they could not find my location... two hours after the schedule delivery was supposed to be delivered...

The second incident, I placed an online order at about 9:30 PM the night before the order needed to be delivered the next following day when the order was supposed to be delivered it was not... I called the location nine times in total. Between the hours of 5- 6. I didn't get an answer not one single time. I reached out by phone number, by message, by email, and Instagram. no one got back to me till the next day, when someone did get back to me, she was rude had no care at all, and asked me what I would like to be done instead of taking up the part on customer service , and not making me feel bad, as if it was my fault… The reason the second order was not delivered was because their system did not notify them of an order !

The third incident happened today, where I tried to book a pick up order online and they had various times , I chose the time 740 because that is what they had available and that's what fit my schedule. I tried multiple times to process the order online and nothing was working.. I called and talk to someone who then told me that they don't know why the websites not working and that I can't come and pick up at 7:40 because no one would be there... after I explain that that is the time that they have online she then told me it does not matter, and that no one would be at the location.

This is all within a two month span. I don't understand the issue, and I don't understand the lack of customer service especially if every problem I've ran into was a result of them and not myself… I have supported this location since it first opened up and to be treated like this is completely disgusting and my money will no longer be going to this location at all.

There is a beauty supply in bowie on racetrack road, although they don't have a website that you can order from the customer service and the professionalism is up to par and I guarantee you you won't have any issues like...

Joyce Essentials (JE) is my GO TO source for hair care products, beauty supplies and hair styling services. Unlike other beauty supply stores, where you are either followed around by the staff while you shop, as if you are going to steal something, or you pay for your purchase through a plexiglass barrier at the checkout register, the Joyce Essentials shopping experience is totally opposite. The staff are approachable and knowledgeable about products to help customers make informed decisions about their purchases. They go above and beyond to provide a customer experience where you leave the store with a smile and pride. My most memorable JE experience was when I purchased clip-in extensions. I had never used them before and LaMiya, JE owner, took the time to explain how to install them and shared styling tips. At checkout she assured me that I could install them on my own and to contact her if I had any questions or problems when I got home. I followed her instructions but couldn't get the top clips in correctly so I contacted her and she helped me adjust the clip-ins. I never had that type of customer service from any beauty supply store. Other stores once you buy the items you are on your own. But not Joyce Essentials, they build relationships with customers.

In addition to their beauty products, they offer salon styling services for the entire family (men's beard grooming, children's styling, barber, women's relaxed & natural styling, locs, weave install & removal and more). They also support the community by offering free haircare lessons for adoptive, kinship, and foster care parents in Anne Arundel County.
