Super disappointing. There are signs everywhere with rules that are never enforced. Supposedly, there's no cutting through the corn stalks and you must stay on the path which is clearly not enforced because there were multiple worn down areas that clearly had just been a cut through for people. It made the maze really disappointing because we kept walking through these 'paths' only to find out that we had jumped way ahead in the maze. The maze is also kinda confusing. They just hand you a map with questions on the back with the instructions that answering the question correctly will tell you which direction to go. No instructions verbalized from staff. Apparently, there was separate questions IN the maze to help you chose to go right or left, but that wasn't explained to us, so it took a while for us to figure out that the questions on the map were pointless and we just needed to keep walking to find a posted sign. Once we figured that out, we were through the maze in about 15 minutes. NO ONE was wearing a mask (even though required for ages 3+ to enter the establishment), even some employees had theirs down while out and about in the crowd. None of the employees even seemed to want to be there. Adults were not watching their children, so there was no such thing as social distancing even if you were trying to stay away from others. Nothing was wiped down the whole time we were there. The handrail to get on and off the hay ride was never wiped & sticky to the touch, so I can only imagine how long it had been since anyone cleaned it. The 'petting zoo' only consisted of 3 animals. To top it all off the Harry Potter decor looked like it was general halloween decor bought at the dollar store and taped up. The whole experience was underwhelming...
Β Β Β Read moreWe decided to check this out since itβs rated one of the top corn mazes. As soon as we arrived, we were terribly disappointed. In normal times, without the threat of COVID, itβs obvious that they crammed as many activities in a small space as they could, but during COVID, the location is an outbreak waiting to happen. We had hoped that since tickets were being sold online to prevent overcrowding that crowds would be limited to assure safety. We arrived to overflowing parking lots and lines for everything. We asked prior to entering if we could have a refund, but they wouldnβt allow it. The cost was WAY overpriced for what they had, especially when most of the activities were high contact and areas were not being cleaned as regularly as they should. We basically paid an obscene amount of money to walk through a corn maze. Do not recommend this festival, especially during COVID.
**Changed rating and edited to add that the owners contacted us and offered a refund. They don't want anyone feeling "required" to enter if they aren't comfortable. I'm glad they offered the refund, but I'm not sure under which circumstances (or how easily) you could get a refund if you arrive and are uncomfortable with the crowds. I also had another friend who went the same day who said they saw people cleaning high-contact areas a lot. We didn't see anyone cleaning, so maybe it was a...
Β Β Β Read moreWe enjoyed visiting the Maryland Corn Maze on a Saturday afternoon. We arrived early in the afternoon which was nice because although it was busy, the traffic wasnβt nearly as bad as when we left. I brought my 9 month old son in a carrier (I could have brought his stroller but I wasnβt sure how the ground would be since it rained the night before but it would have been fine) and my 3 year old and 10 year old came too along with my friend and her family. There was a little something for everybody. I think the favorite of my oldest two was playing in the corn box (similar to a sand box but with corn). The kids enjoyed the hay ride, corn maze, zip line, feeding the animals (additional expense), playing on the tires and on the hay, as well as jumping on the moon bounce. The ponies (additional expense) were taking a break when we arrived and I forgot to go back and do that before we left. π€¦πΎββοΈ There were many great opportunities for photos. If youβre visiting on a budget and going with children, I recommend just getting the day tickets and eating before arriving. The food was a bit pricey but I do recommend buying some of the seasonal treats like the apple...
