I LOVE Giant Eagle grocery stores and this location is my very favorite. The store is always well stocked and clean. Employees are polite and helpful. I also love that they carry Sarris chocolates and always have terrible towels for sale! I was very happy to see that they had a whole wall of Pittsburgh Penguin Stanley cup bobble heads for sale and couldn't resist....Had to get a #81 Phil Kessel!

This is too funny. I bought the bigger bag of giant eagle brand potato chips and the contents don't even take up half the space in the bag. Good one guys! If Walmart opened their doors 24/7 again, most of the grocery stores like this would have to either close their doors completely or stop gouging their communities. Lettuce pray.

I am not from around here, but I have to say that I'd never shop here again. I was disappointed with your Beer selection and lack of people that knew anything about Beer or other liquor stores. But thanks to the kids in Jeep driving down the road, that helped me more than any other person in your store.

Ben Avon Giant Eagle. Horrible. Where to start? Here are some general problems... Parking lot is way too small. They are continually out of product. Completely understaffed at peak times. Understaffed at non-peak times. They sell gift cards for restaurants that are out of business or out of state. ALL SALES ARE FINAL! Prices on most everything are through the roof because of their double your money back guarantee. Here are some specifics... 1/5th of all market district brand chicken breasts i have purchased over the past five years have been rancid. Returning it is a hassle and they make you feel like a criminal. Same goes with market district brand rotten eggs, they looked at me like I had an alien growing out of my head. Again, same problem with produce. It is on the brink of rot when you buy it so unless you eat your onions on the way home, you are TSOL. I had my bag checked to make sure I bought the correct variety of yogurt so that my $.25 off coupon could be honored at self check-out. After the search, they located the proper yogurt. They sold me a gift card that didnt work and again, treated me like a criminal when I tried to solve the issue. I have been given their brand of American cheese in place of Land O Lakes but labeled and charged for the premium brand. I was sold Lite low sodium Chicken Breast when i asked for the regular non lite version. When I told them that I didn’t want lite, they responded with “that is what everyone likes.” This has happened numerous times.

I could go on but I’m getting tired. I’m glad Target is up the street. Can’t wait for Target to get a deli and...

I don't know why people shop at Giant Eagle. Giant Eagle has the highest prices by far of any of the local supermarket chains with the possible exception of Whole Foods which just has a small number of locations. The perks programs just serve to confuse the customer. When the actual savings are calculated the difference is small and can be made up by purchasing one item at another store. Giant Eagle has seemed to use the current inflationary period to raise prices even more than the other stores. In the stores themselves, Giant Eagle has done things like turning the labels of bakery products away from the customer so the customer must pick up the item to see the price. Not only is this away to prompt the customer to buy something it may not have bought, but it is not a very sanitary practice with customers pick things up and then put them back. Giant Eagle's prepared foods offer smaller portions and cost more than other supermarkets in the area. Giant Eagle list the Advantage Pay price first on its signs at gas stations when that price is only available to customers who give their bank account information. They do not tell you if there is fraud you have a lot less recourse with a bank account than a credit card payment. Giant Eagle shoppers give Giant Eagle $ millions of dollars they could keep by shopping at other stores. It seems the local media will not do stories about this since Giant Eagle spend so much money on...

Tried to check out through the self check out which is not marked as requiring a store card to use. The only visible sign says 20 items or fewer posted above each scanning station. When I asked the woman monitoring the self check out area if we had to have some sort of membership, her only response was to rudely tell me we needed the membership for these lanes. Without her explaining anything else, we went to walk away to another register and were berated for walking away by yet another employee who appeared out of nowhere and began typing things in on the check out screen. This employee told us that the membership was to make sure people weren’t stealing, and her tone of delivery made the statement feel personal and accusatory- especially when we asked if that was the point of the woman monitoring the section and the employee responded by saying “not when we are busy and you’re moving all around like that.”

We had intended to become members as this is literally our neighborhood grocery store. However with two rude and disrespectful staff being our only encounter at this location we will be going out of the way to take our money elsewhere. You should train your staff to be welcoming to everyone and assume the best in your customers. The women running the self check out area could use some...
