First, I do not like negative reviews unless people will lose money or be taken advantage of. I have brought items to this jeweler twice in the past, I felt the cost for repair was high, the store is close by, I went there out of convenience thinking that the cost must be in fair range of repair prices. Yesterday I brought a vermeil ring that was losing its luster to Trinity. The ring is unique, not expensive. It is Sterling Silver and there are 2 large gems. I wanted the repair person to buff off the gold to allow for the ring to show just the sterling silver. The lady went into the back and told me $60, but to do a “good” job it would be $100. She was not cordial, I felt like I was disturbing her. I left. I took the ring to the Clark Building in town. The security guard told me that HELFERs on the 3rd floor was open. Wow is all that I can say! 2 lovely women were at the counter , 2 jewelers were working in the back of the store repairing items. They told me the ring was an easy task and would be done in no more than a week. The price…. Wait for it… $20!!!!! She said it was very easy to do and would be shiny when I picked it up! They were not going to make any money on my repair, yet, the treated me as if I were spending a great deal of money. That was their disposition. I am shopping for a gift for my daughter… a graduation gift so I am prepared to spend a substantial amount of money. I was going to buy the gift from Trinity…. The lady who talked with me did not want to help me with the ring that I brought, and if they did, they were going to gouge me for a 10 minute buff job. The lesson here is always get a 2nd opinion. The pricing is also incredibly reasonable — I always shop around & do extensive research. I compared several competitors, & Trinity offered far better value without sacrificing quality or service.
