The food here is great. Very good Thai. I love good spicy food and this is one of the few places that delivers real spice! The service was weak, however. As an experienced service industry worker, I am loath to complain about service because I understand the issues that can lead to slow service despite the best intentions of the staff and the best efforts of the server. Mistakes are made and I understand that. But I was seated and waited 10 minutes to be greeted by a server. Actually, I waited 10 minutes to be approached by anyone. My server arrived and simply said "Ready to order?" I was not. I had questions. I wanted to order a drink. I wanted an appetizer. I wanted to sit and enjoy the beautiful outdoor patio. And, I did get to spend plenty of time on the patio...alas, I spent my time on the patio waiting for my server to return to answer my questions, bring my drink and take my order. I ordered an appetizer. It was delicious. My server walked past after i had finished the appetizer and i told her that i was ready to order my entree. She nodded and walked away. I had assumed Nicki's to be BYOB (it isn't) so I had brought beer and wine with me. My companion and I walked to the car to get our own drinks three times. Finally I approached another server and asked him if he knew where our server was. This guy really stepped in and took care of us...HE WROTE OUR ORDER ON HIS HAND! I was very thankful to have found him. He and another woman continued to attend to my table. They were both very helpful. I asked the man for my check and a few minutes later my original server returned, for the first time in nearly 2 hours to drop off the bill. She apologized and said "We all work as a team here". I love the teamwork, but if you work as a team, I wouldn't have been ignored for 30 minutes or longer...the couple next to me would not have arrived after my party and been served before I had placed an order. It appeared to me that nobody was in charge, that my server was either incapable of handling her duties or completely engaged in something other than working and that while other staff members were attentive once I approached them, they were not in fact working as a "team"...this woman neglected a table in her section and then left her coworkers to cover. I just hope that the tip I left makes its way to them, because I...
Read moreWe had the Chicken Satay appetizer and two orders of Pad Thai. Unfortunately, one of the servers spilled the peanut sauce for the Chicken Satay appetizer all over our table, my new white NFL Shop hat, in my hair, on my new white shirt, and on my wife’s white shirt. We tried to be kind about it, but I now feel I may have not made a big enough deal over it. The servers did apologize to us when it happened, but that was about it. While I do believe that mistakes happen and tried to enjoy the remainder of our meal (after cleaning up in the bathroom), I was still upset that this had happened (I believe understandably). The service was relatively inattentive after that, and at the end of our meal we were even brought the wrong check. While I was eventually able to flag a server down and get our actual check, I was further upset that we were made to sit for additional time due to this.
I worked in a restaurant, so while I understand that mistakes happen, I also understand that when they do happen it is important to ensure that anything that can be done should be done so that the guests don’t leave with a negative opinion of the establishment. I was shocked that aside from the few apologies when the accident happened, no gesture was made to us. I would have expected that the $12 appetizer would at least be comped after having over $40 of white clothing covered in peanut sauce to start the evening.
I had a very poor experience due to the incident and was not shown the type of apologetic service that I would’ve expected. Because of this I don’t really want to bring my business back to this location, and that sucks because the food was actually very good. I truly believe a small gesture of comping the appetizer would’ve gone a long way, and would have been an easy way to remedy the situation and retain my business. I am very...

We had a great server and the food was fantastic.
The long version: We had Chicken Pad Thai, sample appetizer, fresh spring rolls, and fried ice cream. Our total was just over $70, with tip.
It was wayyyyyy too much food for just 2 people. However, we wanted to sample a variety in one visit. The only downside to this place is that it's so far away from us and not something we can frequent all the time.
The Pad Thai is some of the best we've had. But definitely the best on the East Coast. The spring rolls were different than what we were use to but not bad. The crab puffs were divine. The fried toast (whatever it's actually called) was very different but pretty good. The fried spring rolls were delicious. My husband liked the little dumplings on the appetizer platter. The chicken skewers were about the only thing we didn't prefer as they were a tad over done and we just don't prefer curry, but nothing I'd complain about.
The decorations and atmosphere were nice.
I also want to reiterate, our server was fantastic. I wish I could remember the gentleman's name. They need to give him a pat on the back because he truly had fantastic customer service, a great personality, and just made you feel welcomed.
On a side note, if you are sensitive to loud noisy places, I wouldn't go when they're super busy or have a party of people in there. When we arrived there was already a large party of women sitting in the middle of the restaurant. They were EXTREMELY loud the entire time. 2 of us sitting side by side could not hear eachother and you could tell they were irritating...
