Animal welfare is a joke, honestly. I have a home close to a location that people like to use as a drop off (instead of surrendering animals). Every once in a while I have to report animals to them when they find their way down to my property. One time a unalived dog was left down the street, after 4 calls they never came out to move it and someone else eventually took care of it. Recently I had an aggressive dog dropped off at that same location. It bit TWO of my other animals unprovoked. I reported the first one around 10am. The second around 5pm. After the second call, the lady tried to blame after hours as to why they weren’t going to help me. When I let her know I called earlier that day before hours, I was just checking in about an update - she got extremely rude, kept making excuses as to why they don’t care and hung up the phone on me after I asked more questions. The lady on the phone is extremely unprofessional, doesn’t understand how scary this could be for someone and using her “power” as a form on control to be ab usive. Please help educate the worker taking calls, so maybe in the future others don’t need to deal with her emotional deregulation. As for help, we (people collectively) never received any from them - but they still...
Read moreUPDATE: We have no choice but to euthanize him tomorrow because there’s nothing more they can do for him after spending thousands of dollars, and they couldn’t pinpoint just one thing because there are so many things wrong with this poor baby. He didn’t deserve this.
We brought home a 11-week-old puppy. Initially, he was sleepy but wagging his tail, which we assumed was due to his recent neutering. We received a clean bill of health from them, except for the usual puppy issues like worms and more puppy shots. However, his condition has taken a rapid turn for the worse. The 15-pound dog we adopted has now dropped to 10 pounds in just a week. He refuses to eat, and we took him to our vet and found out he has an upper respiratory infection that he contracted from there. This infection has caused him immense pain. Despite our efforts, we were not given any warning about his health issues. Hundreds of dollars later, he is now staying with our vet in hopes of finding a solution. It is unacceptable they could lie and claim that a dog is healthy when it is...
Read moreI adopted a puppy three days ago. Was told she needed to be fixed and chipped so I can’t pick her up for about a week. Fine. Today, two days later, I walked 20 minutes to the shelter to see my puppy and make sure she wasn’t alone. I took her from the kennel to an “acquaintance room”. Then was told by a teenage volunteer that came in the room I couldn’t see her bc I didn’t ask. I apologized and asked for a few more minutes and was told no! “now you know for next time”! Sorry I wanted to visit the dog I’m going to be responsible for her entire life and didn’t “ask”! Then proceeded to take my puppy back to the kennel. I don’t even want to think how they really treat the animals when no one is around if they won’t even let people play with them...
