Next Level Cakery LLC — Local services in Olathe

My (now) wife surprised me with a custom Groom's cake from Next Level Cakery for our wedding this weekend. I will say that not only was I surprised, but also blown away by the attention to detail and creativity!

My biggest hobby is cycling and my wife knew well that my favorite bike, the one I bought when I was just falling into the hobby, has a lot of sentimentality for me. While every one was beyond impressed, my cyclist friends were over the moon with how much it looked like my real bike.

She showed me the cake, which at first I thought was a generic bike, but then I started noticing the details. The frame bag, the paint scheme in the front fork, the water bottles, the red brake cables and pedals, and the Raccoon (our friend group's "team mascot") hanging from the saddle!

The next surprise I had was the quality and flavor of the cake. I haven't baked a cake since 7th Grade Home Ec class, but I have watched enough cooking shows to believe that while fondant makes some amazing art, the taste is usually less impressive. For this cake, I was expecting to see a gorgeous cake but unimpressive flavor, and boy was I wrong. The cake was a peanut butter and fudge, it was dense, bold, and delicious!

Instead of a single fancy wedding cake, we went with several small cakes from various vendors. In addition to this cake, we had one from a local big box store, one from a large national grocery chain, and three small cakes from a locally owned bakery. LeAnn at Next Level makes absolutely delicious cakes…and they look beautiful too! Because she has so many yummy looking flavors on her website, it was fun searching through them and then finally determining which three flavors to try during our cake tasting. When we finally were able to taste the white chocolate raspberry, triple fudge chocolate, and pink champagne, we were not disappointed. All three were AMAZING! We finally decided on the white chocolate raspberry for our wedding cake due to the white color, although we could not have gone wrong with any of the choices. I was also pleasantly surprised when the Triple Chocolate Fudge cake was served at my bridal shower by a family friend. It was elegant and decadent…as was our wedding cake. It is evident that LeAnn takes great pride and care in her creations as well as being a part of people’s special occasions. She is attentive, communicative, and personable. I was absolutely blown away from the cake LeAnn made for my wedding. First off- we went to several very well known bakeries in the KC area and did not like the chocolate cakes they offered as they were dry and very bland. We wanted a chocolate cake and when we tried the chocolate sour cream cake by Next Level Cakery we were instantly hooked!! The cake was so moist and delicious. I asked for a very specific design on the outside of the cake. She told me she had never done it before so honestly I was a little worried but stuck with it. Come wedding day, she NAILED IT!!!!! I literally was in the middle of my grand entrance and stopped to admire the beautiful cake she had created for our special day. It was so much better than what I had pictured. We cut into our wedding cake and I went back for seconds in front of everyone. Multiple guest commented on how delicious the cake was.
