All Pro Automotive — Local services in Old Lyme

I have used All Pro a few times over the past couple of years. While they are more expensive than other auto shops in the area, it used to be worth the extra cost for the level of service you receive. That being said, I don't know if they changed ownership, or if there was a management change, but I just had a terrible experience. I had to book my oil change a week and a half in advance and I told them I could just leave the car with them for the day. They asked for me to drop it off at 9am which seemed fine when I booked the appointment, but I was scrambling to get our kids to summer camp and get to All Pro. I ended up arriving about 20 minutes after 9 and went inside to check in. I apologized for being a few minutes late and immediately the gentleman behind the counter said "sorry, if your late we can't do it today." I have been a loyal customer for many years. As a single, older woman I was apprehensive about going to any auto repair shop. The first few times I have to say I did keep a very cautious attitude. I am thrilled to write here that I have never been let down. After years of service, Jeff still proudly explains everything he approved to be done - even showing me the parts that needed replacement. He patiently shows me how he was able to save me money. He makes sure I understand what was done and why. However, I don't think his professionalism is limited to just me. I have overheard him treat other customers the same way. I don't know how he does it as he is always busy but he makes me feel like I'm the only one in the room when he is talking to me. Jeff, Dave and their team of rockstars are kind, knowledgeable, honest, professional and always willing to take care of their clients! I only started bringing my car to ALL-PRO recently, as I had an awesome mechanic in Coventry (Tom Topping) that I trusted wholeheartedly - enough to continue going to him even after moving to Old Lyme! Tom recently retired so I gave ALL-PRO a try. My experience has been that they go ABOVE and BEYOND. If the issue can wait, they'll candidly tell you when they can get you in. If your needs are an immediate safety hazard or could cause much bigger problems if not quickly addressed, they make time and space however possible. So important to have car repair professionals...
