Heritage Golf Course — Local services in Oneonta

• please read if you are considering to make a trip in the next few weeks* You can see this place was once well maintained, as the layout is well thought out, the field house gives you the impression it was once a large part of this community. Unfortunately I just had my first bad experience since I started playing golf here and I just wanted to make sure folks knew what to expect of this place as I was surprised: upon arriving I found out that hole 6 is closed (they’re using the chipping green as a replacement, which would be fine if it weren’t bumpier than most fairways I’ve been on), there is no driving range, at the turn we dropped by to get a drink from the clubhouse around 4-4:30 but they were closed. Was fine with us, but 2 gentlemen were coming up to check in expecting to be able to play, said they called but closed anyway and they said they drove an hour. Most of the greens are very rough to the point they should close them for maintenance. One green was almost entirely compacted sand. Fairways seem great, striped and all so it has a great look from the tee box, it just unfortunately falls short around greens and most tee boxes were in rough shape as well. I love other courses in the area (limestone springs for instance) and expected something within reason close to that but did not get...

Absolutely horrible customer service. I hope this place does not stay in busy very long. I booked an event with one of their employee's months ahead of time and less than a week before the event, I was informed that employee no longer worked there and never booked my event... I got absolutely no accommodations for my event and I ended up having to move the location of my event days before. The owners, Jerry and Amy Gore, were rude, prideful and money thirsty, only looking out for their bank account. After 16yrs, Heritage Golf course and club house has not given me my $500 deposit for my wedding reception. I was leaving for a deployment to Iraq and needed to change the date of the reception. Heritage club house was the only place to not work with me or my wife for an alternative date. Furthermore, they refused to give me my deposit back after I was forced to cancel. When my daughters get married, I will not pay Heritage golf course nor club house to host...
