Cody's Cowboy Hats — Local services in Ontario

I had been trying to find an excellent cowboy hat for my husband to replace his old favorite. Also, one that was not an "off the shelf" look but the look he had in his mind. To my surprise I found this sweet little store on the border of Oregon and Idaho, right near where we were staying. We travel the 48 states as truck drivers and have looked everywhere but this place was exactly what I wanted! My husband bought a sharp looking 30x hat and had it custom shaped right there by a young lady that knew how to shape a hat!! She was knowledgeable and took her time to make sure we were satisfied. As to everything else, this is a custom hat and care place. It is not the place to go to look at a showroom of common hats. The reason for the lack of a rating star is firstly they don't keep records of notes by the person who shapped the hat, what did they do, what did the customer like? (That way a person could come back and request their hat get shaped as it was previously). These are expensive, quality cowboy hats and that should be top of the list to keep records for return clients. Secondly, perhaps a quality selection of hat bands would be most welcome to complete a work. There is also a connected business that sells clothing, jewelry and leather items such as purses, but not a large amount. For an end note when I saw the beautiful western clothing inside I took a good look. With only a few exceptions most of it was made in China or elsewhere, I would have loved to find something that had the quality of the Cowboy hats they sell maybe stocking local artists or American made. This tiny little store is decorated outside and inside with a flair that invites you in and to come back. Everyone inside was very friendly with just the right touch of professionalism. Thank you Cody's Cowboy Hats, for providing us with excellent hats and two people who knew how to shape it just by description alone!! We will be back next time we pass by for a cleaning and reshaping. A great store and I'm so very happy...

Went in twice with two different hats, the last one being a 5x beaver rodeo king, asked for a shaping, was told by the same gal both times that she can't shape anything less than a 6x 🙄 went to the nfr, guy says he could shape a startched sock and shaped the hat beautifully! Maybe if you specialize in hats, you might want a staff who can do just that 🤷‍♀️ and just because you only sell high quality hats, doesn't mean you should stiff your nose up to the normal folk because that's about 90% of idaho.
