Eagle Cap Mountain Guides is an excellent guiding service! Kelly and Victor are superb guides who will put you on great snow in exciting terrain. Their knowledge of the snowpack and the area is extensive (Victor runs the Wallowa Avalanche Center and they are both AIARE instructors and avalanche forecasters). We skied for 4 days in great conditions without ever seeing anyone else, literally hundreds of acres of backcountry lines all to us. In addition to their abilities as guides, their company is a great reflection of themselves, their attention to detail, and supporting local businesses. Sadie and Luna, their Golden Retrievers, are often along for charging down the fall line. The eggs they use are from their own chickens, the meat comes from the local butcher, the beer is local, Kelly's mom sewed the sleeping bag liners and pillowcases, and her dad built the woodstove and snowmobile sled. The backcountry basecamp they have set up is a great place for lots of fun missions on all kinds of terrain. It is remote and serene with great views and is an enjoyable and comfortable place to relax after a day of shredding the Wallowas.

Eastern Oregon...cow pies to spicy lines to cold smoke is what you can expect when you hire ECMG for a trip. It's as real as it gets, which makes it so awesome! If you want a break from fur hoods & boots, and warm drinks with straws, or you're an experienced backcountry skier looking for new zones to ski and challenge yourself you want to give Victor & Kelly a call. They are incredibly in tuned to the area they work in, and a wealth of knowledge on snow science if you're into it. Victor is the director at the Wallowa Avalanche Center...I think that says enough. The ECMG team is incredibly professional, smart, safe, and always willing to share their wisdom. I have been on several trips with Victor and Kelly and they are the best at getting you to amazing terrain (based on your skiing ability) safely and giving you a great experience that will last a lifetime. You will not be disappointed when hiring ECMG for your next adventure.

I can't say enough nice things about Victor and Kelly after our recent 3-day climb on Mt Baker, WA. They are consummate professionals who are extremely thorough at communicating planning suggestions like training activities and gear and clothing packing before the trip. We were fully informed on our daily itinerary, and they anticipated our every need throughout the trip. They trained us for every evolution and instilled tremendous confidence in our group. They're extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and a true pleasure to travel with. I wouldn't hesitate to get out of my comfort zone in a future outdoor activity if I knew I had them with me along the way. Look forward to the next!
