As stated in several reviews before me; this is a small casino. The entire building is around 20,000 square feet with 500 or so slot machines. For comparison, Spirit Mountain Casino is 90,000 square feet and has 2,000 slot machines. However, I enjoyed myself when I visited for the first time, but I'm more here to list out facts.
I cannot comment on the food as I didn't eat at anything, but the soda at the self serve stations was crisp. ATM fee is $3.25, considering both Spirit Mountain and Chinook Winds ATM fees are priced at $2.00, this left a sour taste in my mouth. When you sign up for their player's club, you do get $10 in bonus slot play. However, any bonus slot play points you accrue can only be used in $5 increments; in other words if you have $4 in bonus slot play, you cannot use it until you earn that last $1. On top of that, it's not money you get to play with immediately, it's added on to each play. You have to have actual money to play to earn the bonus slot play amount(s). It wasn't very busy when I went, but sometimes I would have a question regarding the player rewards and while the staff was generally helpful, they seemed almost fake-nice when answering my questions. I understand that they probably hear the same questions repeatedly, but seeing as it was my first time it did make me feel a bit more unwelcome and that the employees at the desk really didn't want to be there.
Overall, it's a cozy casino and again, I did enjoy myself for the most part. Had some great hits, machines were mixed in terms of tightness/looseness with me (got as much as $300 ahead). Parking wasn't bad at all and fairly well lit. I would say it's worth a visit if you're...
Read moreThe buffet is not worth your time it's too expensive, and everything is cold. The Tule grill is a better option. The restaurant may be better, but when we were there, only the buffet in the cotton wood restaurant was available. One of the staff at the player services was extremely rude when we asked about the buffet (not at first). He told us it was not open or that there was no buffet. We only asked because online it said it was open, and we were currently on our phone looking at it, and we were just curious . He was very rude telling us we were wrong and it wasn't open. We just looked at each other and let it go. We went on to play a few slots and then decided to go try the restaurant because we saw people coming out and didn't want a burger or sandwich. Once we got in, the server said only the buffet was open. We thought wow that guy was a jerk to us, and he was wrong. Once we served ourselves and started eating, we thought maybe he was just trying to save us from the horrible experience at this buffet. The do have delicious ribs and wings but out of the 3 of us none of us felt it was worth the money and wished we were like the other group who came in looked around then decided not...
Read more(2/22/19) The wife and I stopped here for a potty and feeding break for our 2 month daughter on the way from Portland to Bend and only needed to use the facilities to do this. Moments after we stepped into the front door the security guard approached us very sternly and asked us to leave. We could under no circumstances use their restroom because "minors aren't allowed." He told us to use the East Entrance (which was still the wrong entrance!) where a very thoughtful and apologetic lady cleared things up for us and showed us the right area.
While we understand that this is a casino with a necessary no-minors rule, we wouldn't be complaining about this if we could use the restroom for two minutes to tend to an upset newborn who just needed a new diaper. The fact that this place wouldn't allow a few weary travelers to tend to their newborn on the road was very disconcerting. If you're traveling between Portland and Bend on US 26 wait for Madras or another stop for a proper potty break...
