Our stop at Munson Creek Falls was a spur of the moment detour and we are so glad we went! We saw the sign on our way to Tillamook from Lincoln City and decided to stop on our way back down. Lots of details can be found on the Oregon State Parks website, but if I remember correctly, its one of the newest state parks, opening in 2020. The parking lot is only a few miles down a dirt road (good condition) and there is one picnic table and a porto-potty. I think any vehicle (regular ride heighth) would make it in and out just fine.

The trees there are all so tall. It's hard to keep your eyes on the ground with the huge, moss covered trees towering overhead! We saw mushrooms, flowers, trees, lots of moss, giant clover, a banana slug… there are tons of places to take pictures along the  way! Even right next to the parking lot! The trail follows the creek up to the viewpoint for the falls. it's such a beautiful place! The hike to the viewpoint for the falls is half a mile in and out. Easy, there is only one very short section that may be a challenge for those with mobility issues. Other than that, in my opinion, this is a "hike” for anyone. Definately family friendly! And free, which along the coast, can be hard to find!

If you have an extra 45 minutes (or more) l’d reccomend a stop at this lovely little spot! You...

Ok. The falls are nice and the delicious woods make me want to stay forever, but my beef is that this is a state park. Much of the road is dirt and gravel. Ok cool, this is the woods, but after your car is subjected to underbelly scrapes and plumes of dust, you start thinking..."is this the right way?" And after a couple more miles of this, you think "this is NOT the right way". Google Maps actually took me up a worse road and I thought I would get stuck. Signage practically doesn't exist, low riders risk getting stuck and quite frankly, this teeny tiny sad trail isn't worth it. The walk, not a hike, is about 1/8 mile, and you can't get close to the falls unless you disobey park barriers. Don't do this please, it's so wrong for the ecosystem they are trying to preserve. However, more could be done if this is to be considered a "park". I wouldn't call it that. It's pretty, but dude, not worth it in the grand...

Nice picturesque waterfall that would look better after a heavy rain. Road in is a bit bumpy especially first third which is asphalt. Last third, after last house property, could use a bit of road grading more than once a year! Not at all what a State Park road should be. It’s more than a 1/4 mile Hike to the falls along a trail that has some elevation but an easy walk. Parking lot is small. There is a portable toilet, a bit of garbage scattered around, and no running water. Skip this if it hasn’t rained...
