A great little area for kids (or adults) who don’t like to ski or snowboard, and very budget friendly. You can get a season pass for only $25 which you can print at home. Or you can stop at one of many locations on the way up there and buy a day pass, which I believe is $3 as of January 2025. If you go during snowfall or right after a good amount of snowfall, it’ll be great. But if you go after there has been a lack of snowfall, some of the hills will show bare. There’s a couple small hills right when you arrive but if you follow the trail up, you will find some bigger hills up the trail off to the right. If you go up the trail a couple hundred feet there is another trail that goes up to the left, which isn’t super fast, but is longer and fun! The downside is the bear spots after a lack of snow and another downside is many of the slopes are really bumpy! All our kids want to do is play in the snow so it’s all...
Read moreShowed up on a Thursday where most schools were in and had the place to ourselves. There's a sign stating you need an OR Sno-Park pass. ($4/day-pass but cannot be purchased onsite).
There are two shorter sledding hills just off the parking lot. Walk 50yds up the path for two more hills with pretty long runs.
There was plenty of snow, though unsure when it had last snowed. It might be a whole other experience after a fresh snow. But for us it was pretty frozen/packed. That meant lots of jumps(natural or kid-made) and catching-air a few times on every run...whether you wanted to or not. So a snow-tube might have been a better(softer) choice than a plastic sled.
In those conditions we also found it almost impossible to go straight down the hill..which makes me think it must be criss-crossing chaos on a busy day. All in all a fun adventure for the kids, especially when Dad gets frequently launched...
Read moreI’ve parked here in the summer several times. They don’t bother you about parking here. You can park here like anywhere for 14 days if you like, but they do check so make sure you keep track of your days. The picture with the helicopter was the fire Rangers gassing up in the parking lot to fight a fire, which was 12 miles from the mountain to the east I believe. They did have three portable restrooms there, but there are no facilities from the park. You can park there free in the off-season but you’ll need a pass to park there during the...
