i went here last night with my two daughters to see a scary movie. first at the ticket booth i told the lady i was paying for 1 adult and 2 kids and i was charged $20 when it should’ve only been $15, i didn’t say anything because i assumed it was just a simple mistake. before the movie we went inside to the concession to purchase popcorn and a snack, i stood in line for at least 15 minutes to get to the front of the line and someone pointed my way and asked was i standing in line for the young lady ringing everyone up to say “no their good” when i haven’t even been helped yet. (she was the only one ringing customers out she knew she didn’t help me yet) but again i assumed it was just a misunderstanding so i didn’t say anything. we got back to the car and unfortunately i never come without my boyfriend because i can never figure out how to turn off my headlights so i was approached by an older white guy who’s always there riding around on a cart, immediately approaching my car with an attitude telling me my headlights were still on. i said okay i can’t figure out how to turn them off then he says “and you have outside food so you need to leave”. without giving me any other option he tells me i need to leave so i asked will i get my money back he says “no you were told the policy so you need to leave”. i proceeded to tell him that i’ve brought food in there times before and never was told anything because almost every time coming with my boyfriend we’ve brung outside food and the same guy has seen and never said a word. i assume he only said something because this time i was alone and i’m a woman. not only was i overcharged for my tickets but i also spent money in the concession stand to be kicked out because i had a pizza for my kids to eat that i didn’t have to come out of pocket for because its from my place of employment. i’m a single mom with 3 kids and unfortunately didn't have $100 to spend at the drive inn for overly priced low quality food that would end up going to waste but i wanted to have a nice night with my girls. i will not spend another dollar here i could’ve definitely been approached way differently also seeing how disgustingly the owner responds to every bad review on here is so...
Read moreFrom the road, the theater is very attractive, except for the rusted poles and sagging snow fence they use to divide 4 lanes of traffic. The actual facilities looked decently painted. We got in and found the concessions area to be awkwardly positioned in what would have been the prime parking area for screen 1, and it was surrounded by portable toilets. Inside the concessions, it was tiny, the fenced line area was very narrow, the fencing itself had serious tripping hazards, the selection was minimal and not very appetizingly displayed, and the service itself was brusque. The 1st movie was very good, and we enjoyed it...what we could see. Sundance isn't very good with providing monitoring of the patrons' activities, and a vehicle that had pulled up next to us kept turning on their lights, opening and closing their doors, fussing with a lit screened computer, etc. This was about 15' from the door of the concessions stand, so there's no excuse as to why no employees saw that. At intermission, I dared to venture over to the ladies' room. Yes, they have interior toilets as well as the port-o-potties. I almost never use portable toilets as they're disgusting, so, I thought I'd use the real toilets. Yeah, never again there. The stalls were incredibly tiny, many didn't lock properly, the toilets were several inches lower than standard toilets, and the floor was soaking wet with dead bugs on it. The floor's wetness was entirely due to plumbing issues, not weather, as at the time I went into the bathroom, we'd not had any rain for a few days.
So, don't waste your time going here. Once you get past the facade, it's truly a frustrating,...
Read moreCannot say enough good things about sundance kid drive in. Great Prices ($9.50) per Adult Friendly Staff Excellent Picture Quality We pay the $5 Concession fee and you can bring your own cooler & snacks (We still always buy a couple things). No they don't check every car but don't abuse it or i'm sure they will start. Remember when your paying $2.50 for a Pepsi, yes it's expensive but you are supporting a great local business and ensuring it stays open so your kids and grand kids can enjoy the experience for many years to come. Do the place a favor & at least buy a couple things from the snack bar, this is where they make there profit to be able to stay open & show first run movies, plus you can't deprive your kids that experience of the soft yellow glow of the lights and overpowering popcorn smell of a drive-in snack bar. I will have to list 1 small con, and this is being extremely nit picky, but in case any of the staff checks these reviews... There are clearly marked poles out there for a reason. Larger Trucks SUV's in the back, Smaller SUV's and mini vans in the middle and Cars up front, When you follow this everyone can see. There are however times when it gets so full sometimes people don't have a choice. We had an SUV park right in front of us but after politely explaining we couldn't see they apologized and moved. Would like to see someone out there enforcing this and not leaving it up to individuals to sort it out as this could lead to an altercation in the wrong situation. Again extremely nit picky and we did not see any other issues with this all night. Make sure you arrive early! Lines can get long 30 min...
