Didn't stay in the hotel so this review is mainly for the casino itself as well as the poker room. Definitely a small town casino. But it does have pretty much everything.
I saw a Keno station, several typical table games like blackjack, craps, roulette, and pai gow poker. A decent amount of a variety of slot machines, even an electronic roulette machine. There's also a self-serve sports betting lounge, where you can make bets with the many kiosks they have that are fairly simple to operate.
They also have an interesting poker room with 5 all digital (dealerless) tables. Basically a huge touch screen table that simulates a poker table with digital cards and chips where you can play against other players in front of you.
Although a live game seems to be hard to come by due to the limited amount of local poker players in this area. In fact at the time of this review this poker room is only open from Thurs to Sunday. But during those days they do have daily tournaments starting at 2pm and get an average of 2 - 3 tables (7-8 handed) going, mostly populated by the local retired community.
Sometimes they can get a one live game (1/2 no limit hold-em) going after the tournament and mostly on the weekends. The manager and staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, making sure to show you the table and it's controls before playing.
As far as these daily poker tournaments, they pay 4-5 places depending on how many join. Be aware that when they start a poker tournament you have to be there on time and on the table or else they can't put you in late due to the way the software is designed. Once the tournament starts the tables basically run themselves up to the final table.
With included card and chips sound effects, It's a very interesting and modern way to play poker for sure! Very fast because of the digital actions as opposed to human actions that take time, from the dealer shuffling and dealing to the players holding on to their cards when beaten and not mucking right away.
It takes a little bit to get used to the touch screen controls but as with everything else you just get used to it. In fact players were still able to socialize as they played. If you've experienced on-line poker and it's controls you'll have no problems getting used to these tables.
This casino also has a small food court with a decent variety of food; Italian, sea food, and pastry bar. Plenty of seating to eat and a very cool robot server that bring you your food (see photos). The property has several self-serve drinks stations spread around with soda, juice, and coffee.
They have a high end restaurant that's open on the weekends, a small bar in the corner of one end of the building and a full bar and stage for live bands (that play on the weekends) at the other end of the building.
Overall an impressive and entertaining small casino with friendly staff in the middle of this small town of Florence, OR. If you happen to pass by this area and are looking for some gambling and entertainment I definitely...
Read moreI put voucher slip in machine, immediately it said on screen to call for service, so I pushed service button. 10 minutes later I sent my friend to seek help. She came back, then it took another 10 minutes for a gal to come just to say that she needed to get someone else to come fix machine. Another 10 minutes along came another gal, a service tech, told her what happened, again. She opened up machine and found 3 quarters that someone had inserted in voucher/cash slot. She was unable to find my voucher, $15+. She found one for $0.43, and told her that wasn't mine. I pointed to the machine that gave me the lost voucher, thinking she could somehow track it from that machine. She went over to that other machine area but not the correct one, talked to a gal playing it, then came back. I told her I wasn't going to accept $0.43, or another one she found for $10.53, and I wanted to talk to her supervisor. We walked to a cashier area where she went to a back room. She came back later with another gal, her supervisor. I repeated the story again. The service gal said " that I was probably the one who put the quarters in the machine". I was appalled at such a accusations. I'm 70, just retired the previous week from hospitality management, 12+ years at Marriott. I told them to check the cameras, so they could follow my actions and get to the bottom of this, which they did to no avail. By this time I had spent over an hour trying to get my voucher. They offered another voucher the service tech found for $17 and change, so we went over to the cashier cage, but was told "I had cashed it it already ", another appalling acquisition. I then asked the supervisor for her manager, but she kept on saying she was a supervisor. I told her she reported to someone and she finally asked for a "MOD", manager on duty, reluctantly. He finally showed up, told him the story again, told him this would be the last time I would be stepping foot inside of this casino. He apologized for that service tech repeatedly saying that I had put the quarters into the slot, and he'd be talking to her later. I know customer service, and have never had such a horrendous encounter in my life. I'm a man of principle and I wasn't going to stand for any acquisitions, or appalling customer service, for my own sake and others. We had come to Florence to look at buying a 3rd home, but are reconsidering this option after having to suffer almost 2 hours of trying to get my money back. I finally accepted the voucher they had found in the machine for $10.53. The MOD offered $40 in complimentary food credits, which I thought was low for 2 dinners, drinks, especially at their prices. We didn't want to take time to eat then and we just wanted to get on our way back to our Marriott room in Eugene. We'll see if we ever go back there. It was our 4th time there over the past several years. I will reach out to the tribal council as well to let them know how their casino is...
Read morePlace always has miserable looking workers. After living in Florence for seven years I came back to visit my parents. I got off the bus and desperately needed to go to the bathroom. I walked through the first doors I saw. I walked halfway through the gaming room and was stopped by a security guard who asked for my ID and told me that I wasn’t supposed to bring luggage through the gaming room. I told him “oh it is okay I am just going to the bathroom. I won’t be staying”. He said “Well you can’t bring your bag through the gaming floor “. I said “okay I will leave through the hotel on my way out after I go to the bathroom “. He says “no you will go to the valet and check your bag”. I saw “dude I need to go to the freaking bathroom so I will leave afterwards”. He tries to intimidate me by calling security on his chest while I head to the bathroom. I took 45 seconds in the bathroom and washed my hands. I leave the bathroom and see another security guard 15 feet away from the bathroom waiting for me. He comes over and says “I heard you were disruptive and disagreeable with my colleague”. I said “oh I just needed to use the bathroom” He asks “what is your intent and how long are you staying here?”. I tell him “I am not staying here. I got of the bus and am waiting for my parents and I will leave through the hotel right away. He tells me”oh well you can go to the nearest bus at Bi Mart and get the bus there”. I was getting Ramboed. I told him “ no I am not leaving town. I am going to my parents house and what I do in town is none of your business and I will leave now “. He says no your not going that way”. I asked “well how do you want me to leave? Do you want me to teleport?”. He says “you are going to go through the gaming room and leave that way “. I told him “no I will leave through the hotel like the first security guard says”. I go to leave through the hotel while the security guards stalk behind me and I see a lady manager. I tell her “Hey Miss I just came here to go to the bathroom and I have been harassed on a constant basis. Can you tell the guards that they don’t have to do this?”. The guard gives her a shortened version of what happened and she smiles jokingly in complacency and basically says “do whatever you need to do to him”. I continue to leave while telling them off while my parents call to ask where I am at. The security guards tell me I cannot wait outside and I have to go down to the highway to wait for my parents. I tell them “go ahead and call the police and tell them how you tried to arrest a guy for simply trying to use the bathroom”. My parents come and pick me up. One of the guards waves at me maliciously while we drive away. This place is another reminder why I left Florence, Oregon. It’s residents are so toxic. I had gotten off the bus and entered the bubble of Florence and it’s lazy evil sensed me and had to reassert itself. What a...
