John Brown Memorial Park — Local services in Osawatomie

We went from ordinary bicyclist tent campers to rebels outlaws when at 0010  after midnight Sunday approached and awaken by Oz police department with flashlights and was removed from the park for camping.  We tried to buy our camp permit but the officer said the only time they’re available for purchase is Monday through Friday During business hours at Osawatomie city hall- no exceptions.  However when we read online it says they’re available through City Hall or the police department we felt pretty confused,  we was able to comply with the officers request and removed ourselves from the park and city. 😒   Please plan carefully and cautiously when camping in...

This is a great little park right next to the John Brown Museum. There are markers that you can follow that tell you about the battle.
