At first, I was very pleased with my experiences at OMC. The last year has left me frustrated and considering switching care. My last experience was both embarrassing and frustrating. I felt like cattle. I left the building in tears.
I called about 2-3 weeks ago to schedule an appointment for side effects of a medication I am having. They couldn't find an appointment any sooner than 3 weeks out to speak to MY doctor. I took off time from work as I work in downtown Minneapolis and it isn't close enough to just stop over on lunch. On my way to the appointment, one of the side effects forced me to make an emergency pit stop at a port a potty by the St Croix. It was literally the closest bathroom. With no cell service in the valley, I couldn't call to say I was running late.
I hurried over to check in and was told my appointment was marked a no show as I was 10 minutes late. When I said part of the reason I was late was part of the reason I was even making an appointment, they told me I could just go to the walk in clinic or reschedule. Frustrated and in tears I just left. I didn't want to talk to someone I don't know and that only has 10 minutes for me. It isn't easy for me to be open about issues I'm facing. I'll find another doctor that is 10 minutes from my home, not 25 and may treat me like a human being.
If you want someone to treat you like a person, don't go to this clinic. They overbook, rush you thru and don't really care to accommodate...
Read moreI have waited to make my review until today, but there have been multiple occurrences of bad care. Example: I ended up in the Emergency room a few months back, the nurse couldn't get the heart monitor to work. He tried for quite awhile before leaving the room to get help from another nurse. When the second nurse showed up, she said it wasn't even plugged in. I wanted to leave immediately, as it felt I was in the hands of incompetent people. Today, I am sitting in the new "urgent care" waiting area. There is nothing urgent about it. I have been sitting here for 30 minutes and I am the ONLY person here. The parking lot is empty as well. An older woman walked in stating her brother was in the car after open-heart surgery, needing a swing bed. They told her to bring him in. She asked if she could use the wheelchair since he can't walk. They said yes, but never offered to help her. I then asked how much longer I would be waiting, the lady behind the desk just stared at me with a dirty look. This place has gone downhill over the years. I will say that there are a few great doctors here, but something needs to change. Meanwhile, I am still sitting here in the waiting room after writing this, in quite a...
Read moreWhile I know many staff members I myself would rather die than step foot in the door again. Not only does their billing practices need to be reviewed by the medical commission and insurance board. They are not about care they are about padding their bottom line. I have asked for a certain specialist only to find out I got a general surgeon who wants me to see the person I asked to see. But guess what they wanted their 2990 even though I got zero answers. What was once a great resource has turned into a bandaid station at best. I have been given prescriptions that were not mine as well as a history of other poor decisions on their part. Do yourself a favor drive ten more mile to SCF 6/5/2025 ~ Took expired opiates to OMC for disposal, they prescribe all this stuff you do not need, instead of dumping in the trash I took it here. The tech in pharmacy rude as hell - looked at me rolled her eyes and tossed all of the bottles in the flipping trash - need drugs... check the trash. Horrible and still going downhill. Thought I was doing the right thing by dropping off these - could have done the same.. What had such great possibilities has certainly...
