UPDATE: June 25, 2020 Not long after the May update, we got a voicemail from a local furniture repair company saying they would arrive one day this week. We've tried to reschedule (even called the company and waited 1.5 hours for the "next available" person) but haven't been successful. We've replaced the first chair - it's absolutely unusable - and paid much less for a better chair. This place is a rip-off. Buyer beware!
UPDATE: May, 2020 In December, 2018 I wrote a glowing review about this store (very nice people, clean, nice variety of items). We purchased 2 recliners; they were "buy-one-get-one" and totalled a bit over $1,000. They were the most expensive we found, but we felt confident because they had the best warranty - 10 years! After just over a year of typical use, one started breaking down. It's now completely unusable. We followed the warranty and submitted a claim. The only thing we've gotten is a confirmation that it was received. Given COVID-19, we understand things are moving more slowly, but it's been over a month without a word. If they were the cheapest chairs we found, I would consider it a lesson learned, but they were the most expensive. If it was just the one chair, I would chalk it up to bad luck, but the second is starting to show the exact signs of doing the same. As much as I believe in the importance of shopping local and purchasing " Made in the US", I would expect better...

My 65 yo mother-in-law went in to purchase a mattress for herself - she was very clear it was for herself - and was sold a youth mattress without being told that's what she was getting. After many sleepless nights and increased back pain, she tried to return or exchange the mattress using the "100 Night Guarantee" and was told that this specific mattress was not covered. She was never informed of this when she purchased the mattress though it absolutely should have been disclosed at the time. They tried to further take advantage of her by trying to sell her an even more expensive mattress, and when that failed, they told her there was nothing they could do to help. My MIL does not have a lot of money, and now she's out hundreds of dollars after being scammed and taken advantage of by the people at Green Mountain Furniture. We are honestly considering reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.
We are disheartened that we cannot support a local business and must encourage others not to as well. Unfortunately, if you're in the market for a new mattress or other furniture, particularly if you're a member of a vulnerable population, it would be a better idea to shop online or find a different...
Read moreMy wife and I recently purchased 2 sofa's and a dinning room set from Green Mountain furniture. This is a really well run business. Not only is the selection excellent, the quality of the brands that they represent is also excellent. Now to the biggest reason I am writing this review the honesty and integrity they displayed was over the top. When we sat down with Margret she tallied our selections and told us the price. We agreed we wanted to order and moved forward with the transaction. After all was said and done and I paid my bill I got a call from Margret saying there was an error in my favor for a couple of hundred dollars. In all honesty I would never have looked at that receipt again in my life; In my mind the transaction was complete. A couple of days later Margret called me again and said another error was made. (I thought oh well time to give back the money from the last phone call)....Not the case, Margret realized that the shipping charge was based off of our old address and we were getting an additional $35.00 credit. All I can say is I will always put Green Mountain Furniture and Margret at the top of our list when looking...
