I am Ms. Cassandra J. Carter and our Mother Mrs. Norma J. Carter was memorialized at The Gardens Of Faith Memorial Gardens on January 11th, 2021. Her sacred and beautiful ceremony was directed by her niece, Mrs. Pat Greenhill (of Clinton MD) and she was assisted by several family members. The Memorial Photo Displays and The Floral Centerpiece with the Crystal Cross and the White and Red Roses were elegant and truly beautiful! Dale Thomas our (Family Service Counselor) was patient and encouraging as my brother and cousin Ricky and Michael Carter assisted me with completing the essential and administrative documents. Dale and another staffer guided us through the complex paperwork and other essential documents. Due to my brother Ricky being a Frontline Worker we had time constraints! I was very worried about getting a Memorial Urn in time for our Lovely Mother’s Sacred Service. Another staff member provided me with a Unique and Beautiful Urn which they had on display! This was a Wonderful Save! Dale assisted me (with the help of my cousin Michael ) as we selected a special niche for her final resting place in The Mausoleum! Ricky added a special touch as he played taps on his drum 🥁before the service. Our cousin Minister Gilbert A. Ruffin greeted everyone warmly and he shared scriptures and delivered a soothing prayer of comfort to our family. Pastor, P.M. Smith delivered her eulogy and he he took care of all of the particulars throughout our Mother’s Dear Cousin Larry honored our Mother, Ms. Jean with a Heavenly Song!🎶🎤Our brother Daryl had a very important role in our Mother’s (Ms. Jean’s)Memorial Service. He held our Mother’s Beautiful Urn for our photographer/ videographer Ricky Moyd, before it was placed in her Glass Niche! Finally, I would like to thank Dale and the Admin. Staff at The Gardens Of Faith Memorial Gardens in Rosedale, MD because they really assisted us in celebrating our Mother’s Home-going! It was a sacred and well planned. 💐🌺👼🏽🙏🏽👼🏽💨Thanks To Pastor P.M. Read moreI attended the burial of my grandmother here this Saturday. After a short service the pastor announced that we would now be going to the gravesite to pay our last respects; not only was the manager (Craig) and Family Service Counselor (Amy) in earshot of this announcement, but it had also been confirmed with them prior to the date. They directed us towards a gravesite that had been prepared, but after waiting there for ten minutes we were told that it was not the correct site and were pointed towards the correct site that was surrounded by heavy machinery and not prepared.
What followed next was a series of disgraceful events that began with staff members taking my grandmother's casket out of the hearse themselves, putting the casket into the vault, and lowering the vault into the ground as it swung back and forth from a rope attached to a backhoe. Having stopped them from denying us our last respects, they carelessly tossed by grandmother's flowers on the ground, kept the casket in the vault, and did not remove the machinery. We were forced to say goodbye in these conditions, not to mention that the staff members (including Amy and Craig) engaged in side conversation and laughter, with their walkie talkies blaring, while we finished the services.
In totality, the series of events were extremely disrespectful and I am appalled by the lack of action...
Read moreI recently attended a funeral service at Gardens of Faith for a close family member. I found the staff to be incredibly disrespectful towards my family's loss. After the short service, we were directed to a burial site and awaited the hearse's arrival. After much time passed, a few members of our family investigated the delay, and learned we were directed to the wrong burial site. The site we were supposed to go to was still under construction.
Our entire family (and close friends) stood on the hill, watching random employees from the cemetery remove the casket from the back of the hearse to load it into the vault to be put into the ground. They ordered us to leave so they could lower the casket into the ground without an audience. Of course, most of my family objected, and stayed to say their goodbyes.
I'm sure this was a miscommunication somewhere along the line of planning, but the professionalism and respect from the employees were extremely lacking. As we stood silently to pay our respects, they were laughing on the side and using their walkie-talkies. It was as though the staff did not care for our...
