Tom's Western Store — Local services in Ovid Township

VERY VERY VERY disappointed!!! I saved up to buy my husband a new cowboy hat (and a small hope of getting my Jr. one to match) and we finally made the journey to the place my husband hasn't stopped raving about in 8 years... The selection was EXTREMELY limited and the staff was RUDE :( There was at least 5 staff that I counted, only 2 other customers in the whole store and, other then being greeted at the door and told to follow the carpet, we were ignored while 2 other associates helped and were very pleasant to the other gentleman that was shopping. When I walked away from my husband and found a few clearance hats, one of the associates walked over and stood with her arms folded watching my husband from a few feet away from him. I returned with a clearance hat for him, which didn't fit and when I went to go put it back, the woman said "I'll take that!" and took it from my hands. She then walked ahead of me back to the clearance ones and snatched the other one I was looking at before I could reach for it. We promptly left. I'm so so sad. This is truly my favorite Horse store to shop. Emily at the front always bends over backwards and is so kind to my kids. She takes the time to actually walk me through certain products and gives the best suggestions. Mr. Tom is always a smiley happy face to say hello to and he’s so kind my toddler as well. I just love the store and as a stay at home mom this is a great place to just pop in for an hour, get my kid on the riding bull for only $.50 and have a tiny bit of me time to decompress. I also had the pleasure of getting a saddle fixed out there! They did a great job of walking me through what the heck I wanted, and what would be best for my equipment. Very disappointed when I went to shop there the first time. I had seen Tom's billboards for years. When I went in, I asked one of the owners whether they had a particular product. She rudely responded, and when I followed up to clarify, she was even more rude and dismissive. Some of the employees were friendly and helpful, but I have since shopped and spent my money elsewhere.
