We were in the area for the weekend and tried to book a last minute tour for antelope canyon. No surprise that everything was completely sold out of the weekend. This was the only place we found that had not only one open slot, but an entire open schedule for the weekend. This should have been our first red flag. We noticed it, but figured it was a fairly new or small mom and pop operation and wanted to support them for that reason.
The website wasn't very clear on the various tour options, so we gave them a call and spoke to Charlene to see what options were available. Also, the website said there was a limit for group sizes to 7 people so we wanted to see if there was an option to accommodate 7 adults and 2 kids. She told us she could accommodate our group of 9, but there was no price discount for our 3 or 7 yr old. After discussing with our group, we called back to reserve the 1045 am spot with 5 adults from our group, planning to have the last 2 adults watch the kids, because we didn't think it was worth it to bring a 3 yr old for a 1 hour tour for $125.
We told Charlene to book it, she told us to show up by 10:15 and we went ahead and started getting ready to go. We showed up at 10 and no one from the business was there. There was another party there waiting to do the tour though, so we knew we were at the right place. After waiting 30 minutes, we gave them a call and asked Charlene if we needed to go somewhere specific because we haven't seen anybody from Hogan yet. She then proceeded to tell us that the party that was already there took the 1045 slot from us because they had a full group, and we are now signed up for 1 pm. She had no remorse, no apology, and offered no consolation. We had to check out of our Airbnb before 1, so this wasn't an option for us, nor would we want to go on a tour with this company anymore anyway.

Read moreAt first we were not sure if we had come to the right pick up point, because (following the instructions on the website) we arrived 30 minutes before the scheduled tour start and we could not find anyone there. After 10 minutes, our guide, named Richardson, arrived. We were lucky to be the only group in the tour, so we could benefit from the whole attention of Richardson. He was a great guide, explaining many details of the canyon and of the Navajo culture. He was also great at pointing out the best spots for pictures and small tricks for taking the best shots. Finally, note that the tour times are according to the Utah timezone, not that of Navajo...
Read moreWe booked a tour with Antelope Hogan Tours for our family. Richardson was an awesome tour guide. We learned alot & enjoyed the stunning canyons. I highly recommend you book with him because his tours are private & smaller in size than most other tour companies. This will make you feel as though your family has the canyon all to yourselves. Richardson is also very knowledgeable & will happily answer all your questions. He also takes great pictures so your entire family can have these memories...
