Shippenville Nursing and Rehabilitation — Local services in Paint Township

My dad went here after surgery for an abscess in his groin. He was to have a wound VAC, since it was too much trouble for the employees to worry about. They disconnected it. They claim he was too rowdy at night so they had the doctor of the nursing home prescribe sedatives. The doctor prescribed over eight sedative medications. He was so badly overdosed. The ambulance had to be called and he sent to the local ER. He had to be given Narcan . Every time we would visit most of the nurses were sitting at the nurses station gossiping .My dad had fallen six times the first week he was there. It’s an awful place to put your family members so I recommend you do not admit a family member here. They will not receive proper care. This is just my opinion from what I witnessed...

Horrible place ... in one month, June 2022, my husband had a bladder infection so badly that he was hallucinating and was sent to Butler Hospital ICU. ER showed me the black bandaged they said was probably never changed since he got to this place after his colostomy surgery. And never call to see how your loved one is doing ... nursing station won't answer ... I had to go through administration, social work or PT to have someone call back. Ladies are too busy gossiping and don't realize that they are our employees through our income...

They took very good care of my uncle. I live in indiana and he wasn't able to talk towards the end and I would call and they would hold the phone to his ear and let me talk to him. The last 2 days of his life they would do that several times not only for me but for my sister as well. I didn't get everyone's names but i did get Blake's and I wanna say thank you for doing that for us. Thank you for taking such good care of him and helping us with our goodbyes it truly means...
