2nd update (March 2024) My fingernails are about halfway grown out. The nail on my pinky finger is in the worst shape. I want to reiterate that the owner/manager damaged my nails unnecessarily by not following best practice for removing gel polish.
Update: the owner of the salon is pushing me to remove my review because it will "hurt his business". I want to stress to him that using the dremmel a second time, after a short acetone soak, did damage to my nails... all of them... rather than being patient with a longer acetone soak. At that point, the stubborn polish could have been gently filed away rather than damaging the nail bed where no polish remained.
And I edited the photo that apparently goes against Google standards so you can't see the blurred image of the nail tech.
*if he's pushing me to remove my 1 star review, how many other one star reviews have been taken down?
Mani Pedi done on Dec 27, glitter hombre with gel. Returned Dec 28 because one of the gel coatings came off in one piece.
8 days later, 7 of my fingers had the gel polish lifting from the cuticle end of the nail. We were out of town so I couldn't return to get it fixed.
Went in today, Jan 9, to get all the gel removed. Owner did dremmel, acetone and then less than 10 minutes later, he used a dremmel again to remove the rest of the gel rather than a less damaging tool.
Now my nails are so thin and have sandpaper marks that will take months to grow out.
I'll look...
Read moreI’ll start off by saying I’ve been a customer of USA nails since they first opened. I’ve always been treated well and always had a great experience with the outcome of my nails. I’ve even moved further away and still remained driving back to this location.
This last time I came for a pedicure, I had a technician that was being impatient with getting my regular polish off my toes and insisted it was gel and it was not. She wanted to use the drill on my toes to get the remaining polish off. When I told her no to the drill, she calls Sunny over who starts to get angry and say than they’ll just have to polish over my “gel” because they HAVE to drill it. I’ve been dealing with a brittle toe nail and working on healing it it and everyone knows the drill weakens and thins the nail significantly. The rest of the time I was there, I was treated poorly and Sunny came over to finish my polish and it was probably the worst pedicure I’ve ever received. I was getting ready to leave on vacation and ended up having to go to a different shop to get my toes re-polished because they were so bad. Needless to say I’ll never return to this shop. The owner needs to learn better...
Read moreMy sister-in-law and I decided to come in and get a basic manicure. She had to go first to get her old acrylics off- the Owner proceeds to tell her she doesn’t have acrylics, that they were never done right and she paid too much. He was rough, and very rude to her. Once she got to manicure part he kept leaving to make phone calls. He was aggressive and ground her nails down to where they burned and cut her multiple times. He never shaped her nails the way she asked, rushed the process and left her nails looking like a 5 y.o had done it. I never even got my nail color on because I was witnessing how he was treating her and even called her sensitive when she told him it was hurting. After seeing this, and was up next to get my color done which I was supposed to have with him. We left and he charged her $45 dollars for a simple manicure (no cuticle clean up, no massage, and no trim)- he then wanted to charge me a full price manicure even though I did not receive the service. I do not recommend this business, and hope that future clients are not...
